If I port a number to BSNL, will I be able to avail the policy (Unlimited 3G) still..??
I mean I own Samsung Galaxy S3, and it also has a micro sim card of Vodaphone. So will this be available to me if I port to BSNL..??
Xavier October 28, 2012 at 7:40 pm
@drrebekah – why don’t you cut out a normal sim into a micro SIM? Google it and it is fairly easy.
To all, I suggest you cut out a normal SIM!
(At your own risk, so I prefer you buy a new SIM so that you do not have any loss of data)
drrebekah October 19, 2012 at 11:39 pm
All this is utter nonsense. i have been trying to get a bsnl microsim for past 1 month. they have told me in chennai, pondicherry and cuddalore offices that they are out of stock..dont kno for how long..i wish bsnl would send stock here soon so that i can start using my iphone soon.

Hi, where can I buy this micro sim card in Bangalore. Thanks in advance.
Linto February 25, 2013 at 3:07 pm
Go to your Nearest Customer Service Center and ask for the Specific plan SIM for your device. Offer will be applicable only for the listed devices above .
sonal December 14, 2010 at 11:52 pm
@Rata
first u have to convert any existing working 3G sim to micro sim(15 x 12 mm) by trimming.
After inserting micro sim in to apple ipad simslot u will get cellone 3G signal @ left top.
now do setting for APN
You can view the APN settings on your iPad in the following location:
Settings > Cellular Data > APN Settings
edit your APN, enter the APN as ‘bsnlnet’ & no need to fill any username 7 password. Tap Cellular Data at the top to save the changes to the APN and return to the Cellular Data settings.
now browse internet through safari

pse let me know which model does not BSNL, VODAFONE, AIRCEL, DOCOMO,UNINOR And IDEA CELLULAR Connections. i dont think all the model support these operators
velu December 6, 2010 at 8:00 am
you can use it with an adaptor.search for it on ebay.
velu December 6, 2010 at 7:54 am
they are not uneducated. they are getting better deals so they are promoting these companies. one company offers pulsur bike if they sell 500 sims in 2 weeks. and other company offers thailand tour for 1000 sim sales in the promotion period.so they are promoting those companies which they get better offer. BSNL lags on marketing.
Prashant P December 5, 2010 at 11:51 pm
@Prashant P
If other ops follow the rules as per DOT/TRAI for SIM activation then retailers will prefer to go with MTNL/BSNL for more commission & better QOS. Transperancy, affordable call rates, full talktime no cheating, no auto VAS activation, no unwanted calls for prepaid to postpaid conversion & even for caller tunes etc.
Prashant P December 5, 2010 at 11:46 pm
you mean to say more commission on sim activation? If yes then you are quite wrong, MTNL & BSNL offer more % than Pvt ops but only because of immediate activation & no varification process from pvt ops its get activated & they get their commission without any hassle so they are selling only other ops sim cards.
som December 5, 2010 at 6:20 pm
why for apple?why could not they launch this 999 unlimited data offer for other handset vendors?this is unfair.
max December 5, 2010 at 3:36 pm
its ok but u cant denie that tata is the 1st commercial partner of tt and now airtel too
RAGHU December 5, 2010 at 3:22 pm
@Tarun PK
what abt Tata Indicom Live Online Support?
Tarun PK December 5, 2010 at 3:11 pm
@max
and as soon as the feature goes live with other operators end we will integrate the same with TT
Buddy as of now only Tata has only Live online support feature as soon as other operators come up with the same feature we will integrate the same with TT and keep in mind its not an ad and let me tell u one more thing other operators r also working on the live chat thing
RAGHU December 5, 2010 at 3:10 pm
@ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR
yes not only Docomo other operators should be also thr in TT. hope the TT team will get in touch with other operators and implement it very soon.everyone is waiting for that day
Kamal Halder December 5, 2010 at 2:40 pm
@riju
Very true it will be a great effort from TT if live char server is introduced.
max December 5, 2010 at 2:39 pm
arjun, tata paid for isthat, its a advertisement.
tarun, your comment is not specific, u ppl implementing wht arun said means u are going to approch other operators for adv?
riju December 5, 2010 at 2:21 pm
@Tarun PK
sir please start a live chat facility in TT website.
Tarun PK December 5, 2010 at 12:24 pm
Arjun we will soon implement the same
ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR December 5, 2010 at 12:21 pm
@Sanjay Bafna
Sir i Know you are an Telecom Expert but Why You People Introduce DOCOMO 24*7CC On Your Website? If So Pls Introduce Aircel,AIRTEL, IDEA, VODAFONE,BSNL,UNINOR,RELIANCE,MTS 24*7Cc On Your Website. Such That The People Can Share The Problems With The Respective Company.
Benny December 5, 2010 at 12:16 pm
iPad is what even Apple calls it. Its not ipad
Sanjay Bafna December 5, 2010 at 12:06 pm

Sanjay Bafna December 5, 2010 at 11:55 am
Rs.999/month is for Micro SIM and Apple Devices only and they are already offering the same tariff on BlackBerry 3G too check this news http://telecomtalk.info/bsnl-launches-new-unlimited-blackberry-plans-for-2g-and-3g/40260/

Hello Man One Thing DO U KNOW? AirTel Has Bribed Nokia Company in India That’s Why NOKIA Has Giving Malfunctioning Handsets Which Doesn’t Support BSNL, VODAFONE, AIRCEL, DOCOMO,UNINOR And IDEA CELLULAR Connections. You People are Diehard Fans Of Nokia.
riju December 5, 2010 at 10:31 am
Because they get more money from pvt operators.
steve December 5, 2010 at 9:42 am
yes even i feel so nokias are the best
Vicky December 5, 2010 at 8:56 am
Compare wit any brand like sony or samsung
Nokia always give better data speeds
So dont comment like this
U seem to be always commenting like this
You dont like Nokia and Airtel
every body know this
Ganesh Srinivasan December 5, 2010 at 8:43 am
Good show BSNL
Does it mean that Apple iPad and iPhone 4 are getting launched in India in near future?
vinay December 5, 2010 at 2:54 am
mtnl n bsnl r the best in pricing n plans. but i hv heard that pvt operators r giving money to their officers to gv bad service n not improve their networks.
vinay December 5, 2010 at 2:47 am
@Prashant p
agreed. even i find it difficult rather impossible, to get new sim cards although d service offered by them is quite good n cheap. but pvt operatrs sim r easily available across the market. i hv to visit qcsc of mtnl.
jdjain December 5, 2010 at 1:51 am

Prashant p December 4, 2010 at 10:56 pm
Hi not only for availability but also for security reasons, BSNL & MTNL have more restrictions for activation of SIM cards so that retailers avoid to sale these products, fake, incomplete documents can’t get connections but other ops activate the sim cards in next 15mins so that they get more revenue in less efforts
steve December 4, 2010 at 10:55 pm
@Manjunatha
go in settings and select umts
Manjunatha December 4, 2010 at 10:36 pm
I tried bsnl sim in my nokia 5800 but still speed is 15kbps. How to get get better speed
steve December 4, 2010 at 10:28 pm
ios in ipad sucks android rocks@think123
steve December 4, 2010 at 10:26 pm
its only for some time afterwards ur speed will come down to 256kbps as the server gets updated ur speed also will get updated even i used it on my 3g router at 2mbps..but friends bsnl is giving 256kbps speed and that to on 3g frequency and the speed is very constant any time of the day whereas normal 2g the speed is not the same so friends people who are on 2g plans should imiedietly move on to bsnl 3g and enjoy..kick docomo and others and help bsnl to make up their loses.. iam proud to have a BSNL sim we are with BSNL@Rohit
mayur December 4, 2010 at 10:22 pm
@rohan
same thing in maharashtra bsnl sim are available only in csc….and where it is available in shop they are sold at high price and also they say that they are not having the sim card…

Why can’t these bloody Apple guys be normal like others……. like use a normal SIM… they are the only @rseh0les who are doing this micro SIM stuff…. huh… Bollocks!!
But nice plan fron Bsnl… keep it up…
sajin seethi December 4, 2010 at 10:04 pm
wow thats super awesome
love you BSNL
rohan December 4, 2010 at 10:03 pm
I am a BSNL cust. From last 5yr and i am satisfied. Some retailers promote airtel , vodafone. They say BSNL is poor in netwk. I proved them that its netwk is even better than airtel in our area. Still he said bsnl is not a good company. The actual pblm is BSNL SIM is not availiable every where so these uneducated retailers promote pvt operators
Benny December 4, 2010 at 9:56 pm
rocking plans from bsnl….. How i wish i had a ipad. Its a big lesson to all private operators planning to enter 3G. Gosh just think abt the difference between docomo and BSNL. For 599rs one wud get 6GB in BSNL. Same price in Docomo wud fetch u only 650kb (for 500rs). Thats peanuts.
Hell with DOCOMO n all private guys
BSNL went into loss of 1800 crores because of the mother of all scamsters A RAJA.
I wish there is a turn around under Kapil Sibal. Bsnl needs some good restructuring and enhance their service quality. If BSNL thinks it can make lot of private operators run out of business. But for that to happen BSNL needs to be run by some good MD and ppl like Kapil Sibal will surely help doing that
Congress should never again give telecom to any other party
riju December 4, 2010 at 9:30 pm

think123 December 4, 2010 at 9:16 pm
this interesting on one hand bsnl is offering 3g at 1399/month unlimited while it is offering microsim at 999/month unlimited.why this disparity in pricing hopefully in near future normal 3g is also 999/month.
Rahul December 4, 2010 at 9:16 pm

iPod is a portable media player designed and marketed by Apple where as The iPad is a tablet computer designed and developed by Apple. It is particularly marketed as a platform for audio and visual media such as books, periodicals, movies, music, and games, as well as web content.
So only iPad will require network.
Keshav Jha December 4, 2010 at 8:29 pm
Has BSNL restricted the data speed for 2G plans in 3G network to 256 kbps? I am getting 128kbps in MTNL 3G network with BSNL 2G. 256 kbps speed restriction is the best idea.
skmouzam December 4, 2010 at 8:15 pm
this plans are for ipod or ipad?
dskushwaha December 4, 2010 at 8:08 pm
Sorry I wanted to say… “But my friends who own TATA Photon+, in spite of having greater speed do NOTdownload more than 5 GB because of high cost and pay more than me.
Vicky December 4, 2010 at 8:05 pm
Can anybody tell me how is bsnl voice clarity when comparin wit vodafone and uninor
Except that bsnl is number one no doubt
dskushwaha December 4, 2010 at 8:00 pm
I am using EVDO since its launch in Guwahati (3 years), and its unlimited plan (2.4Mbps)at Rs. 550 (now new subscribers can get it at Rs. 650) really amazes me. I sometimes download more than 15 GB in a month. But my friends who own TATA Photon+, in spite of having greater speed do download more than 5 GB because of high cost and pay more than me.
riju December 4, 2010 at 8:00 pm

dskushwaha December 4, 2010 at 7:25 pm
Not only you but for many others BSNL was Bhai Sahab Nahin Lagega. It was a sign of backwardness to own a BSNL mobile.
But after the success of BSNL in 3G and with better services in 2G also BSNL is now Best hai Mere Liye
Good going BSNL.

Some days ago i read an article on another website by a stupid man (Cant remember his name) who claims to be in telecom industry for 4-5 years and he wrote that bsnl although leads in 3g game by 2 years, it does not know the game and not even the terminologies of 3g world, so it cant provide the facilities like other private operators. Looks like that man is now hiding behind his own bu*t!! TT reported how Docomo is just doing a marketing gimmick by stating 21MbPS speed whereas in reality they have just placed 3.6mbps hspa to action, whereas bsnl is already upgraded to 7.2 in many places. Wah to go BSNL… finally u have shattered all barriers and have elerged as the ultimate winner. (I used to be a big BSNL opposer, but now i myself have a bsnl 3G sim, and it rocks!!)
Amit Deb Biswas December 4, 2010 at 6:54 pm
impossible for me!! But thanks to u bro..
Sarba December 4, 2010 at 6:50 pm

Santu Sovan Mandal December 4, 2010 at 6:45 pm

Abhishek December 4, 2010 at 6:43 pm
Right. What about the price of Ipad in India?
sahil December 4, 2010 at 6:39 pm
Yet another move by bsnl that proves it will remain the number 1 in 3g data services.
It’s going to be nightmare for pvt. operators to catch bsnl in 3g & evdo.
Amit Deb Biswas December 4, 2010 at 6:37 pm
So nice offer boss.. Then india is going to enjoy ipad.. But how is cost of ipad??
