    BSNL finally starts 3G services in Thane District also from 25 Sept 2010.. Now 3G USIMS & DATA Cards are available in Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Badlapur, Bhiwandi, Vasai,Virar regions….
    But Here BSNL is having some issues with 3G Sims.. New USIM of 128KB is not accepting 2G network of BSNL while in GSM Mode or when 3G network is weakened while in interiors in home while in Dual Mode… I purchased 2 Sims yesterday both are not accepting BSNL 2G network, only selects 3G network in above mentioned areas and gives error as No Network Access when we try to select 2G network manually…
    So is anybody there from above area who has purchased 3G USIMS from Ulhasnagar or other Thane district towns and facing no network access error for selecting 2G Cellone network while in GSM mode??

  • Abhijit September 23, 2010 4:56 pm

    Whether it is available for Maharashtra circle or not?? Because BSNL online portal recharge shows promotional data plan scheme for other circle only..
    For Ex:- If we enter Karnataka circle BSNL number in that 3G Data recharge voucher then it gives promotional prepaid data plan rates..
    But if we enter Maharashtra circle BSNL number then old 3G Data recharge voucher rates are shown..

  • Steve September 23, 2010 11:43 am

    bsnl csc have no idea about this plans.very bad csc people are least bothhered to inquire also not ready to help customers.bsnl will die after some years.if this things continue.same thing happend with air india.india zindabad

  • Jishnu September 22, 2010 10:42 pm

    Even though its a ggood move from BSNL, its customer care is not aware about the new plans.. Even its not updated in the website,

  • Raduga September 22, 2010 1:12 pm

    I tried recharging my data card but still these rates are not available :( ..

    Just tried a couple of hours ago at Pune.

  • sonal September 21, 2010 9:38 pm

    Merc :Very good move by BSNL in reducing the tarrifs, in line with MTNL rates.
    BSNL need to give option to enable these packs via SMS or USSD . this will help user alot. otherwise one need to go to bsnl CSC centers for all these recharges.
    Also need data plans with longer validity for prepaid, like 1gb with 6 months validity. this will appeal to people browsing internet n checking emails on mobile

    U can recharge with online portal

  • lee September 21, 2010 5:38 pm

    @Ganesh
    r u surf about this thing?

  • lee September 21, 2010 5:37 pm
  • Ganesh September 21, 2010 5:25 pm

    BSNL 3G was good. I used to get aroung 180kilo bytes/s to 250 kilo bytes/s. But that access point has been blocked and now they employ traffic shaping. Using the new access point, we can only get 32 kilo bytes/s which means instead of 3.6 Mbps , we get ONLY 256kbps!
    But their price is very good and competitive!

    FYI – Using 2G SIM itself we can convert to 3G (by sending sms-check with CX CARE) and use it (no diff in speed).

  • Ashish September 21, 2010 3:31 pm

    I am using 3G Data Card in Aurangabad, Maharashtra…. Superb fast speed… 300+ KBPS from IDM

  • Arjun A September 20, 2010 8:36 pm

  • som September 20, 2010 8:33 pm

    by the way could you give me the link of this page?official website yet to be updated.planning to go them tomorrow

  • som September 20, 2010 8:22 pm

    gr8.lets see how could pvt operators keep 3g pricey after this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lee September 20, 2010 8:05 pm

    @santu
    i hope 3G R PRICED @ Rock bottom, so that even d common man can use.

  • santu September 20, 2010 8:02 pm

    One & only Bsnl can make 3g really affordable. This tariff reduction shows that. Initially none of the private operators are capable of giving 3g at such a cheap rate. Will see more tariff reduction in next 6 months.

  • Sanjay Bafna September 20, 2010 7:35 pm

    @Merc 3G data plan-recharge are available on BSNL’s On-line recharge system.

  • Hemant September 20, 2010 6:54 pm

    Now v can say Enjoy 3rd generation services @ very affordable rates with BSNL Telecom. No roaming charges in BSNL own network, great network coverage including city, rural areas @ affordable rates.

  • Kanaga Deepan N September 20, 2010 6:19 pm

    OH.. Thatz why the website of BSNL said, it is a GOOD BOY and it Loves INDIA… :D

  • lee September 20, 2010 6:15 pm

    Wow. What a jump BSNL. U r really setting 3G & EVDO on fire. Good going.

  • lee September 20, 2010 6:12 pm

    @Merc
    i am in favour of u. . . :-)

  • Sanjay Bafna September 20, 2010 6:12 pm

    @Abhijit MTNL’s 3G Data Plan will be revised with in few days.

  • Abhijit September 20, 2010 6:04 pm

    Now MTNL should sit with BSNL and reduced there roaming rates which are still Rs.1.50/min frm roaming & also MTNL 3G DATA Plans free usage are not applicable from 3G BSNL roaming network.So now MTNL should also give free data usage while roaming in BSNL 3G.

  • Merc September 20, 2010 5:36 pm

    Very good move by BSNL in reducing the tarrifs, in line with MTNL rates.

  • Vikram.xp September 20, 2010 5:16 pm

    now comes the real Broadband fight. watch out guys.

  • anandh September 20, 2010 4:58 pm

    BSNL got some money spended on 3g now they started to hold the existing subscribers and attract new subscribers by this plan. more trouble for private operators since they have competition from BSNL and also by fixing the prices. more over in the may of next year we will what real competition is. private operators you have tough time ahead.
    Congrats BSNL.

  • Hemant September 20, 2010 4:23 pm

    Great offer!

  • Abhi September 20, 2010 4:13 pm

    Really very big blast from BSNL.
    EVDO operators wake up!!!

  • Raghu September 20, 2010 3:49 pm

    WoW very good plan…In Chennai & few parts of TN I have tested BSNL 3G and found that they have very good coverage…Now they have reduced the price of data plan…Private operators are really going to have problem, they are now forced to launch plans at BSNL rate…Good for customers like me :-)
