Mahmood Junaid August 5, 2010 at 10:49 am
i think the main difference between bsnl and other operators is that they provide 2gb data transfer(download and upload)… But other operators like docomo, idea etc…provide 2gb data download…

Micromax 2 G DATA CARD IS available only at Rs.1500
pv July 2, 2010 at 5:28 pm
Presently BSNL is selling only 3G data card Pricing 2500/-. Which is backwardly working for 2G networks. But they will not going to sell it you for 2G service, because they are unable to meet 3G Data Card demand generate in Karnataka. They have a very huge waiting list for now data service subscription with data card supplied by them.
You can purchase it from open market ,i.e. going to cost less.
For 3G-Triband Data Card USB Type- Normal Market Price 2200-2600/-
For 3G-Single band Data Card USB Type- Normal Market Price 2000-2500/-
For 2G-GSM Data Card USB Type- Normal Market Price 1500-2000/-

@Firstonnet Dear Sir, Is is to possible to use existing sim card with gprs plans to use with data cards (as said by PV above)? If yes then what are the types of data cards are available from bsnl and what are there prices?
Nidish Vashistha July 1, 2010 at 11:56 pm
Best part of These Cards is that they works on Roaming too… you can Remember that Aircel has first launched them in the market..Brand name: Pocket Internet..in their commercial MS.Dhoni comes out os plane & says..i connect to my friends through Pocket Internet.. But these Pocket Internet card not work in roaming..so many people are cheated by this indirect Bluff by Aircel..
Now use them All India..all made possible because of BSNL…
M waiting MTNL should also come with more attractive 3G/2G cards..

sourabh July 1, 2010 at 9:33 pm
@santhosh
karnataka having to very good sms STVs Rs 11(1 paisa local/STD any nw) & Rs 28 ( 300 Local & 20 STD SMS Daily Free). Both plan having 30 days validity.
pv July 1, 2010 at 6:09 pm
yo can revert back ……. but you will come back to 2g general plan.
Send SMS ‘M2G’ TO 53733 . but in case of migration u will not going to get 1 sec pulse or all@49 paise tariff option.
better option take new sim card recharge with gprs plan & try to use with data card.

santhosh July 1, 2010 at 11:31 am
why dont bsnl(karnataka) introduce various stv13(for sms),stv61(any local network @30p),etc., like other telecom circles like Gujarat, maharastra?
Firstonnet July 1, 2010 at 11:00 am
As discussed with Karnataka DGM GSM he replied tht we already have 3G strong network in entire state so no need to upgrade 2G GPRS to EDGE. Also he said that our gprs have less traffic so everyone can get better speed & surely not less than 6kbps, as you mentioned tht u r getting only 2kbps so they asking for your handset model, location, prepaid or postpaid & which browser & website you are using for download. He cleared tht sometimes problem occurs from website also. Pl mention the above details here to improve your browsing & downloading speed with some more tricks.

Epynic,
I thinks you have mentioned speed in KiloBytes not Kilobits. If you want to convert to Kilobits then multiply 50*8 = 400 Kbps speed you get….
epynic June 30, 2010 at 10:04 pm
SERIOUS or just bluffing,,,,,
panjim i got only 40~50 KBps only,,
sonal June 30, 2010 at 9:31 pm
today also these packs available,so why they written “The above GPRS STVs will be available from 1 July 2010.”
sonal June 30, 2010 at 9:27 pm
Today i recharged my number with gprs-98 plan. i got 2 gb data ,then i migrated to 3G services. Now i am getting nearly 600 kbps speed in house, with only single Signal Bar on Mobile.
gr8………. good hack
Amit.g June 30, 2010 at 9:24 pm
Packs are good but my advise to karnataka ppl is dont use BSNL for GPRS bcos still 90% of the BSNL towers are not EDGE enabled, even in hubli they dont have EDGE towers. in GPRS speed will be around 2KB/S(in BSNL)
rahulraj June 30, 2010 at 8:21 pm
