After recent rationalization of its SMS tariff with the launch of 5 new SMS Packs, now Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) comes up with two more SMS packs, offering FREE Local and National SMS to BSNL Network and 12p/SMS for all other networks for its 2G and 3G GSM subscribers across India.
BSNL’s new SMS STVs will be priced for Rs.32 and Rs.53 and will offer same benefits of FREE SMS to own network and 12p/SMS to any other network across India. SMS STV of Rs.32 and Rs.53 comes with the validity of 15 days and 30 days respectively. These STVs offer BSNL to BSNL FREE 100 local and national SMS per day (as per TRAI guidelines) and cost of 12p per SMS on any other local and national networks.
Beyond free 100 SMS (BSNL to BSNL),charge of 50p per SMS will be charged or SMS charges as per base tariff plan whichever is higher. These new packs/STVs will be available from 10th January 2013.The MRP rate of STVs in each telecom circle may vary subject to their technical feasibility and availability.

Here in Chennai and Rest Of Tamil Nadu :
Due to Airtel and Vodafone’s forcefully demanding 10 paise for every SMS (terminations charges for SMS) generated from other network and it has raised bill (huge amount) towards SMS termination Charges to BSNL Chennai and BSNL RoTN .
So that BSNL is unable to manage with / provide existing volume based Free SMS packs (1500,3000,4500,6000 for Rs.21 (15 days), Rs.36 (30 days), Rs.46 (45 days), Rs.56 (60 days) respectively to BSNL 2G and 3G mobile customers.
So there is no other way to go, all ready BSNL is bleeding with the loss of 20,000 crore due to unable to expand the networks / deploy the latest tech to compete with private networks because of congress govt / ministry peoples.
Finally, Volume Based SMS pack, RC46 / SMS46 : 4500 Free L/N/Roaming SMS for 45 days has been withdrawn on 10-01-2013.
BSNL 2G & 3G – NEW SMS PACKS w.e.f : 11-01-2012 :
A. 100 Local/National BSNL SMS Free, Other Local / National SMS@12p/SMS :
DO RC36 / SMS36 to 53733 (Tollfree) to activate above SMS benefits for 15 days
DO RC56 /SMS56 to 53733 (Tollfree) to activate above benefits for 30 days .
This will be one of the best and cheapest SMS packs in Tamilnadu.

It seems you are a blind supporter of bsnl.
Sms termination fee is 5p/sms, not 10p.
Still bsnl’s sms pack 12p/sms? OMG! Its really ash*le!
Why base tariff is so high?
Still others have better pack than bsnl.
You should call 1503 to waste time n money, but we will save our pocket.

Pls clarify….can one send a unlimited off net sms at 12ps/sms using this pack.
I guess it should be like this…..
One can send a max of 100 sms at discounted price(or free), above 100 sms (including offnet sms) will be charge at base rate or 50ps whichever is higher.

The upper bound of 100 is set by TRAI and not the service provider. So whether its on net or off net the maximum discounted messages that can be sent from a number is 100

Bsnl is doing wat its best at..creating ample confusion by launching lot of STVs with hopeless offers.it seems bsnl has seen through its folly of chrgng sms even after using STVs and is trying to find a way around.In doing so its creating so many vouchers,however all of them s**k.

Hello… i am the victim of bsnl because of its poor network quality. lot of cal drops, poor voice clarity and msg sending failed etc. thats why i ported out from bsnl. now i am happy with airtel. airtel is number 1 network in a.p. i agree bsnl has good rural area coverage. but it is not fit for cals and gprs. only we can msg with that signal that too after repeated attempts.

Now a days BSNL launches lot of SMS Packs, but none of them are not very satisfied packs. Airtel/Vodafone is providing lot of good Monthly SMS pack with very minimum amount with huge count of SMS.
BSNL please introduce a new SMS pack with minimum cost of monthly with huge count of SMS. That will help BSNL customers as well as BSNL itself to increase your revenue and we will get Customer satisfaction.

SO MANY DISCUSSION DAILY ON BSNL NEW SMS PACKS BUT THE FACT IS BSNL WEBISTE PORTAL.BSNL.IN HAS ONLY TWO SMS PACKS RS.13 AND RS.68. ALSO NO OTHER SITE LIKE PAYTM PROVIDING OTHER SMS PACKS ALL RECHARGE OPTIONS FAILS. AND LAST THE DEAF AND DUMB BSNL CUSTOMER CARE THEY ARE TOTALLY UNAWARE ABOUT NEW PACKS THEY ARE STILL PROVIDING THE INFORMATION ABOUT OLD 5PAISA RS.13 SMS PACK. BSNL IS THE WORST SERVICE PROVIDER IN THE WORLD, I RECHARGED WITH A 3G PACK IN WEST BENGAL CIRCLE, BUT NOT GETTING 3G SPEED.DISCONNECTING INTERNET CONTINUOUSLY.

But in Chennai and RoTN has finally withdrawn, it’s all existing free sms pack(including SMS46) on 31-Dec’2012 and it has been launched another two volume based FREE SMS Packs:
First one is at Rs.20 (SMS20 to 53733) Get 2000 local SMS Free to any network in Chennai and RoTN, validity: 30 days.
Second one is at Rs.30 (SMS30 to 53733) Get 2000 Local SMS free to any network in Chennai & RoTN, 1000 National SMS to any network. Valid for 30 days.
For more: 18001801503 (Toll Free)
I think it’s looks better than others in Chennai & RoTN private networks.

What the hell r u doing to catch more customers,infact you are trying your best to loose the existing customers.Well I am Studying in college and many of my friends are now using BSNL jst bcoz our college only provide the BSNL network within the campus.But now it doesnt seems possible to go ahead with the bsnl.
Sorry if i m rude but ur SMS services has forced me to say so.Well your new plans are forcing your customers to switch to another network.Its better to bring some new plans if you really care for your customers..

Now a days i find BSNL is leading in increasing the tariffs as they want. TRAI/DOT IS not at all bothered hy cannot u offer all at 1p/sms and still so many private operators are offering it.BSNL have to be thrown out by customers i can say and use private operators. i thought BSNL is good but now a days i find they are quite bad. they are trying to recover their loss by doing all this stuff.

Here in MP 53 SMS pack gives 60 days validity. Onnet SMS 0.5p and offnet SMS 10p.
