@THARUN GEORGE
@THARUN GEORGE Land Line is land Line and there is no comparison as far as voice quality is concerned between Mobile and Landline.Nowadays, due to cost of maintainning Land Line, it has become Status symbol too where as Mobile lost that status symbol long back as even a Rickshaw puller is seen carrying mobile nowadays.

BSNL is a hundred percent owned Govt. Company and not 49:51 Govt. Private venture as you mentioned.

STV 21 already providing me unlimited local/Std for 2 days in Kolkata Bsnl
THARUN GEORGE August 13, 2011 at 11:02 am
Not useful offer. Private mobile operators charge 0.30p/sec with full talk times.
So if we recharged for Rs 36 we can talk for 2 hours on Rs0.30p/sec tariff to any Local Mobile. So this BSNL local number offer is a waste when there is less bsnl mobile users and no body prefers land-lines now a days.

@Manoj Abhigyan
TRAI /DOT should also bring consultation paper to roll back the tariffs to be same as before as BSNL/MTNL did a very good thing and every other operator should follow suit.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has extended the date for submission of comments on its proposal to regulate mobile Value Added Services in the country, to the 23rd of August 2011 . Please submit your comments to the TRAI at advbbpa@trai.gov.in or bbpa@trai.gov.in . They’re seeking answers to just 10 questions, so do write to them.
