i was hoping for a unlimited plan on prepaid sim. It would had made more interesting.

  • AMN June 24, 2014 7:03 pm

I also am having issues with my bsnl prepaid data plan.
I have theRs.139, 1GB 21 days validity prepaid plan. But the second the plan is activated my main balance starts decreasing! It may be as low as 0.2 Paise or Rs.50-60 also at a time, in spite of not having used up my 1GB limit.
The customer care is useless! I got through to them after trying for 3 days! And the customer care executive just went on saying “you’ve used these many MB and that’s why you are charged.” When I ask her why I’m charged when my 1GB limit is not used up, she only gives me the same answer and then conveniently cut the call x(

    • G.K. ANAND June 24, 2014 7:17 pm

One has to cross the legendary “seven seas” before you land in the BSNL Customer care domain. I agree with Sanjai…even when u have yet to use the l GB limit, for some reason
or other, the amount in the main account continues to slide down. This…in a Public Sector
Company! The general rule in Sales Management is, “my customer is always right”. In respect of BSNL, the service provider is “always right” in silently “eating” the amount in the main account. The “speed” of internet provide by BSNL is also disgusting….No video could be viewed continuously, even while the data limit is accounted for! In fact, a senior staff member suggested leaving BSNL and go in for a “better” service provider!

  • Aakash May 11, 2014 2:42 pm

I think BSNL is not transparent with the data usage policy. I had recharged my 3G Prepaid sim with 561 plan which gives me 5 GB for 30 day. To my shock it was exhausted in 4 days. I am using Huawei dongle which has Data usage counter . According to that I have downloaded only 3.5 Gb & uploaded 1.5 Gb. Still my pack got consumed.
According to customer care person bundle data includes upload & download both. Is it true? Has anyone confirmed whether they are able to use the complete bundle data allotted.
And as i was depending on my Huawei data usage counter I have also lost 550 value on my balance as according to BSNL my usage was over in 4 days itself & after that they have charged me Rs.2/Mb till my balance was null. The customer care person cannot tell me my day wise data usage so that i can cross check.
Has anyone experienced the same problem

    • raghavan June 4, 2014 1:56 pm

see all the data given by the operators include both upload and download only. U use net for both ways no? then where the upload will go?the same bidirectional way only. what the bsnl says is absolutely right, first u check the details of the plan. that itself will say that total volume include upload and download. dont get confused.

BSNL is known as widely largest communication service in INDIA, but it is providing worst service of broadband,2G and also of 3G datacards in rajasthan (SOJAT ROAD,DIST.-PALI_MARWAR).It”s internet surfing speed is very low 2 to 5kbps and many times it will be 0. It disconnects the connection 2 to 3 times in 5 minutes. Most of it’s consumer which were consume this services are feeling sorry to taking a wrong decision of consuming services of BSNL NET.
I request BSNL authorities to upgrade the services in sojat road,dist.-pali rajasthan in mobiles services and high speed net services (at least 2Gspeed).

looks like they did not increase 2G speed. I took 6GB on 300Rs of 2G 3 months back. Still it is same speed. Now I am worried to recharge 3G because, as they mentioned (2g & 3G) the speed will be same on 2G and 3G, no difference.

  • gurudev October 15, 2013 11:17 pm

  • n srivastava October 2, 2013 10:11 am

Due to rs 302 plan for 6 gb data with 90 days validity I ported from airtel to bsnl ……
The new plans are very very costly and are certainly not customer friendly.
The 90 days plan must be launched with comparable tarrif to minimise the possibility of mnp from bsnl to other operators. …….

    • Ansari Sarfaraz October 2, 2013 2:00 pm

I also like 302 data plan,BSNl should Launch the plan again,If doesnt’launches the plane I will Leave the service due to So costly planes

Its costly yar…..can student get this costly packs….its bad…..

  • Pratap Bhanja September 21, 2013 3:35 pm

This is a wrong business move by BSNL in my opinion. How come they equate 2G and 3G customers (it is similar to equating film viewers of Balcony class and 3rd class). Though data volume is comparable, customers are paying for difference in speed. After they introduced uniform data pack (for 3G and 2G), it means speed is either have no consideration or speed for all is equal (which BSNL claim to be 3G by default). Can they tell honestly, if entire India is on 3G network. It’s not. There are places where they do not have 3G tower installed. If customer moves to that area his/her Internet access would be slowed. Then why the customer would pay a higher rate then (flat rate for 2G or 3G)? Again, the speed of BSNL sometimes slowed down to such low that it is worse than 2G even.

In this scenario, they are going to loose customers to private players like Vodafone. Vodafone has recently launched a scheme to counter competitors that, where the competitors have 3G coverage; Vodafone offers 2GB data @ Rs.95/- with 30 days validity. And, Vodafone’s data network runs on EDGE, fairly good speed for common Internet use.

  • sumanth September 19, 2013 12:38 am

hi… can any one pls reply me, BSNL is going to reduce the speed of 3g , when they introduce the 4g?

    • Akhil Mohan September 22, 2013 7:06 pm

BSNL already launched wimax services and they are calling it 4G. Speed offered is 2Mbps which is less than their 3G speeds(theoretical). I dont understand why they are making fool of themselves.

      • G.K. ANAND February 1, 2014 9:20 pm

  • Marlonmark September 16, 2013 5:50 pm

I have never seen any service provider with such an amazing offer. It seems that BSNL is going to an extent to help the customers to use the 3G speed that too at least prize and with high usage..

  • anonymous September 15, 2013 12:29 pm

u will get 3g speed if your area is 3g enabled. no speed cap. bsnl supports 3g speed upto 14.4mbps in my area

Please read my question once again and answer!

  • Saajan September 14, 2013 1:31 am

Guys whats the speed of bsnl 2G speed??? I’m planning to port my Vodafone to bsnl. And howz the network and call quality? Please tell in detail.

    • Subhadeep Kanungo September 21, 2013 2:58 pm

anonymous is right. BSNL is different from other operators. with 2G sim you can access 3G network without any recharge or activation and so can enjoy 3G speed with 2G sim. Remember one thing here. Recharge with 2G pack only. You will be able to get 3G speed if 3G is there in your area. 3G speed vary from place to place. In some areas it is above 7Mbps (bandwidth). Average it is around 1.5 – 2Mbps (bandwidth). And on EDGE network i.e 2G network, you will get speed around 120 – 220 Kbps (bandwidth).

Earlier plan of Rs 302 was very good with 90days validity and 6Gb data. Also speed was very good at my place.
    BSNL shall bring similar.

  • Bibhas September 12, 2013 8:50 am

    Hi Guys!
I am using BSNL 5 GB data pack wroth Rs.561/-
In my circle (ROWB) it works fine & getting 256-300kbps speed.
I consumed 5 GB in 2 weeks by downloading HD movies.

    • Saurabh September 12, 2013 11:41 am

That’s the reason why telcos fear launching unlimited plans as users will suck even 500GB in a month by streaming videos, downloading HD movies and apps or games. 80 percent of the stuff downloaded by a user is useless in real sense. They download for fun as by looking at speed, they feel of downloading whole web into their PCs by downloading then removing then again filing Hard drives and this process don’t stop. These people are known as download junkies. Even if I get unlimited plan I won’t be able to use more than 5-10GB in a month. I don’t believe in filing my HD with useless stuff.

      • chandra September 12, 2013 11:47 am

Then what exactly do you download to consume 10 GB a month?

      • Rama September 12, 2013 2:01 pm

Most of the operators do have unlimited plans but with FUP and speed restriction post FUP so that they can prevent themselves from a bill shock :p

      • atanu September 12, 2013 3:22 pm

        +1

    • chandra September 12, 2013 11:41 am

@Bibhas Why give Rs.561 for 5GB instead get Reliance sim of Rs.200 which gives 4GB 3G data for 30 Days and speed is superb (500-600 kBps all time). I’m using the same.

  • Kaushik Biswas September 12, 2013 12:08 am

I think BSNL has capped speed limit again. I have 3GB left with only 2 more days left in validity. If they do this to customers, then I think it’s a bad way to steal and it’s bad for BSNL’s business as well.

    • js September 12, 2013 11:33 am

      Kaushik,
i don’t think bsnl is limiting the speed any time. I am using bsnl 3G for around 2years in bangalore. Only some day during peak hrs i get around 1.5 Mbps. Otherwise always i am getting more than 4 Mbps and during morning always i get more than 8Mbps. I could download 1GB of data within 20mins.

      • chandra September 12, 2013 11:44 am

Looks like BSNL is so kind to Bangalore.
I’m from West Bengal circle, i’ve never got more than 3Mbps speed with BSNL 3G ever.
Buth Airtel and Reliance gives 6-7Mbps speed sometimes.

  • chandra September 11, 2013 10:33 pm

    Shame on BSNL !
    BSNL is worst for me
    No speed consistency ever
    Not reliable at all

  • Vishal September 11, 2013 9:36 pm

The validity of this 7GB data STV for prepaid is now 60 days…..please check.

  • Arunava September 11, 2013 9:34 pm

Is a common people really afford 800+ rupees in a month for data uses? The present economic situation in our country is such that more than 50% of our population every day think about how they purchase ‘datachachhari’ with rice instead of ‘data’.

    • Ratan September 11, 2013 11:19 pm

kya bat hai, har koi sochna chahiye yeh bat.

      good very goooooood man.

  • Akhil Mohan September 11, 2013 8:18 pm

BSNL 3G speeds are dismal . It wass good for some days the things went back to normal..
    speedtest.net/result/2959604208.png
    see the speedtest result .
I think the problem is BSNL is expanding its 3G network in kerala. So as more people use 3G the speeds are getting lower. BSNL doesnot have network to provide service to all customers..
As the 3G network exspands speeds will reduce for BSNL..
So friends dont port in to BSNL and ruin it . Please ;D xD

  • Akhil September 11, 2013 7:55 pm

using ?139/1GB pack 3G speed reduced compared to before and 2G working smoothly before it was irrtating and horrible

    • Nikhil Verma September 11, 2013 8:41 pm

Same is happenning with me also that earlier I get about 2-3Mbps speed but now I am geeting approx 500-600Kbps which is ridiculous for the name 3G….They started cheating or their BTS or machines are not able to handle large number of requests…….Here, 2G is still the same as snail.

      • Robin September 12, 2013 3:34 pm

  • js September 11, 2013 6:24 pm

Good move by bsnl. Bsnl 3G is the best and i am using it in my smartphone and for tethering for my laptop. Whenever i check my speed i am getting more than 6mbps in Bangalore. I think bsnl had recently upgraded the ntw. Some places it is showing H+ instead of just H and when i checked the speed it is more than 10mbps.

    • Rama September 12, 2013 2:07 pm

Looks like BSNL is finally upgrading their network as they had said in an article on tt a few days earlier

  • Debabrata Dutta, Kolkata September 11, 2013 6:18 pm

BSNL will going to modify the stv 124 in Kolkata circle from 16th September , 2013….. now the cost of stv will be Rs. 144 and same will provide the same freebie….i.e; 600 mins lcl b2b, 150 mins lcl b2O, 50 onnet sms, 50 mb data……and tariff is b2b lcl @ 5p/min after 600 mins…… b2O @ 40p/min after 150 mins…….b2b std @ 40p/min and b2O std @ 60p/min for 30 days……A welcome move from bsnl Kolkata…… 20 Rs. extra will not cause any big problem…..

  • Susanta September 11, 2013 6:07 pm

It might be good for someone bt in my point of side how many guy or girls active this one there is a quistion? If i afford this huge ammount then some more extra expences Bsnl Broad band is best with WIFI router every family member can access broadband with night unlimited download.

  • kavin September 11, 2013 5:56 pm

without long term validity pack their plans are useless.. people want data for one year pack like 1200, 2200,3300 with 10 gb,25gb,40 gb validity..
bsnl is good, yet they need to improve.. they lost youth becoz of sms pack.. now with useless data costly pack they will loose mid class customers..
by the time they realise., government will sell off bsnl..
when bsnl cannot get in customers they should privatise for better service..
guys we all should stand for privatisation of bsnl atleast 50%

  • Vikas September 11, 2013 5:27 pm

what about the news of merger of bsnl and mtnl??
