I AM FROM PUNE AND VISIT MUMBAI OFTEN. I DID NOT BUY BSNL EVDO DATA CARD BECAUSE I CANNOT USE IT IN MUMBAI. THOUGH BSNL IS GOOD OVERALL, I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY MTNL MUMBAI IS NOT PROVIDING EVDO SERVICES IN SPITE OF HAVING CDMA LICENSE AND ENOUGH SPECTRUM? DOES ANYONE KNOW THE REASON?

BSNL & MTNL sites sucks, tried getting in but in vain since many days. It will just show you the home page but if you try to get more info and click on any options. It does not open at all. Its National governed. I feel shame by looking at the condition of it……..Better they should scrap the site and just run on word of mouth and papers they are not efficient enough to manage sites how can we expect then to manage millions of customers.

BSNL and MTNL websites working well no problem at all

Same here mtnl mumbai working fine but mtnl delhi no chance ….
About bsnl working fine with bsnl broadband and mobile but not with any other operator

Tested with MTNL Broadband-Mumbai and also from Vodafone BlackBerry all working fine (MTNL Mumbai, Delhi, BSNL Corporate and all circles)

BSNL evdo is not evailable everywhere. Thats why BSNL is offering unlimited without FUP. EVDO is only avalable at certain (not all parts) in the city area itself. Then think of remote places.

EVDO is just a virtual residential broadband which is an alternate to wireline broadband as for now.

bsnl evdo is really good, i had downloaded a file of 14.3 gb with a average speed of 156.5 kBps(1252 kbps)on torrent with no reduction speed as in photo unlimited plan the speed decreases after downloading certain gb…also bsnl provides free roaming on evdo thats makes me tension free of roaming here and there….

why is the evdo data card price with bsnl still Rs. 1500, when the likes of mts, tata, rcom have brought it down to around Rs. 999?

Better buy the data card from Reliance or TATA (if available in Rs 999), unlock it using QPST or CDMA workshop and use BSNL EVDO SIM.

BSNL EVDO is amaging (if you are near BTS and getting good speed). I enjoyed it when it was Rs. 550 for unlimited. Now Rs. 750 pm is also not a bad option for really unlimited (NO FUP). No tension of exhausting your (high speed) data limit.

I also want to know the speed given by BSNL in EVDO (For this 750 plan).

I used it near the BTS (distance 1 km approx.), It used to give upto 2.4 mbps (yes the max. speed of BSNL EVDO). Generally the speed ranges around 1 mbps during browsing and 1.6 to 2 mbps while downloading using Flashget 3.7
