If you get missed call from some international number originating from Maldives, Nigeria, Diego Garcia and Sao Tome please do not try to call back.
Some BSNL prepaid customers complains of huge balance reduction after making calls to no starting with +246, 239, 234 and 960.
As per the reports on The Financial Express the mobile customers have been receiving missed calls from these numbers during late night or early morning hours and the advisory was issued when number of mobile customers, especially prepaid subscribers, complained of reduction of huge amount of balance after they dialed international numbers starting from +246, 239, 234 and 960.
If you remember last year a similar advisory was issued by Bharti Airtel to its mobile and landline users on fraudulent calls purportedly being made on behalf of the company it looks like the bad guys are finding new ways to cheat normal user and now its the responsibility of subscribers to be extra cautious while making calls.
Have you ever received similar kinds of msgs or calls are you a victim do share the feedback and what extra precautions would you like to advice to normal users to let us know via comments.

Responding to “miscalls” mean “Risk” more so on ISD calls. Even responding to call originating from india (+91) could be a risky affair. What is more just be very careful before you press a key in response to a call, flash message or sms. The key one can use without risk is the RED one or CANCEL.

I got a missed call (from +263732210829)on 27-01-12 at 1:09:17, I was not aware of the fraud. When I called back, I heard two ppl conversation for 5 to 6 seconds in some language. Immediately I cut the line, fortunately I had very less balance (bsnl prepaid) and lost around Rs.10. I do not know how these ppl are working? are they hacking and using our a/c to call international numbers? can any one enlighten on this?

Dont call back any unknown numbers.
Think about a logic. If a person really wants to contact you , he will definetely call you several times. so , dont dial missed calls.
