Blackberry call it best budget phone but i think blackberry needs to know that in that price range you can get a samsung 3g mobile with android which is more superior than the old blackberry os .
I would say blackberry is good but in that price range blackberry needs to think again .

this clearly shows RIM is in deep trouble. dont buy this underfeatured phone with very less features for very high costs.
blackberry will die soon..next 5 years maybe.

5 YEARS IS TOO OPTIMISTIC. IT WILL DIE IN MAX 1-2 YEARS! INDIANS PLEASE DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON OVERPRICED AND OUTDATED/UNDER FEATURED BLACKBERRY PHONES! RATHER BUY SAMSUNG, NOKIA, HTC, APPLE, MICROMAX ETC.

BLACKBERRY = OVERPRICED AND OUTDATED PIECE OF JUNK!!! BLACKBERRY 9220 MODEL FOR A RS.11,000 PHONE HAS NO 3G AND FRONT CAMERA FOR VIDEO-CALLING… MOST OF ITS FEATURES ARE OUTDATED AND HAS THE LEAST NO. OF APPS AMONG BIGGIES. COMPARE THAT WITH SAMSUNG GALAXY Y PRO FOR AROUND RS.8500 – IT HAS DUAL SIM, ANDROID, 3G, FRONT CAMERA FOR VIDEO CALLING, GOOD CAMERA ETC. ONLY FOOLS BUY BLACKBERRY… OTHERS BUY SAMSUNG, NOKIA, HTC ETC.

I can’t understand why blackberry match with other manufacturers offering 3g, gps, large screens etc on phones priced near 6-7k, that too without the bb plans ( I mean the recurring monthly cost) I don’t think that anyone will purchase BB just for BBM , everyone know that there is an app named whatsapp available for all phone platforms.

Now RIM should re-think its strategy and introduce feature rich affordable phones without proprietary plans.

Samsung will be least bothered by the launch of this phone. What this will do is that it will eat into sales of the 8520 and 9300 (if they are still being sold). Time to reduce cost of 8520 to 5/6k.

RIM should reduce prepaid BIS tariffs. They should introduce a data plan like Rs.149 or Rs.199 for 200-500 MB of BIS data.As the normal gprs/edge tariff is Rs.100 for 1-2 GB of data,RIM could charge a premium of 100% over the normal data charges for giving us pushmail and BBM. But charging 400% of normal data tariffs is not justified. This factor is deterring most of the BB lovers from purchasing this smartphone.
over a one year period one spends Rs.3600 extra on BIS data charges @ Rs.399(Rs.399×12) PM,as against Rs.98 (Rs.98×12) for normal data plans.
