I don’t know from where you get the RIM share price data but RIM stock’s lifetime high is $144.30/share on Toronto stock exchange which it struck in Sept, 2008 and on NYSE (New York Stock Exchange), it was $144.76. Company hasn’t split the stock in last 5 years. So, it was never $450. The highest market value RIM achieved was $78.3 bn.

The current market cap stands at 6.58bn for $12.58/share (closing price of 20/12/2011). If I consider your all time high price of $450, it would’ve been $235.44bn in the past which is not true.

I’ve been tracking world market from last 10 years and very much familiar with all this.

Do some research and analysis before coming to a conclusion.

Yes already RIM is planning to sell its Blackberry business, The net worth of the company came down from $87billion to $8billion in just 3 years, share price came down from $450 to $12. All because of Apple & Android. Nokia learnt it quickly & so jumped to multiple platforms like Windows,Meego, Symbian belle but RIM stuck with the same thing!!

BB losing its sheen now. It never became popular in India with just a million odd users until now. The makers bet big on the only USP of device secrecy of Mail/Messenger services and failed to bring all new experience to user. Users thumbed_down OS7.

It would have been better if they continued to sell it as a business-phone. Shifting the focus and making BB “Phones for all category of users” hasn’t worked for them.

    What’s next???? A Collapse…….
