    Sanjay Bafna :

    Agnivo :
Are they wasting their own money? No, BSNL gets additional funds from other operators (USOF – universal service obligation fund) to offer rural telephony benefits and service.
It’s the tax that’s being collected from other private operators; and in turn from the subscribers of the pvt. operators – it’s our money, the users of non-BSNL networks. So, they should thank us… not BSNL, as BSNL has to do it, even if they do not like to do it; a compulsion, a forced commitment.

With this offer NO USOF FUND will be used,Its Totally BSNL’s own offer, so your blame on BSNL is not correct in this case.

whenever some investment made in rural area by BSNL,BSNL always said this is their own fund and not fund of USOF

Other operators should learn from it..

Once again BSNL show it’s comitment to the rural India where revenue is very less and others are not interested to give service.
