AKAI will never be able to make it a good thing b’coz :
1) Handset looks are cheap chinese ones
2) Services – oh no!
3) Japanese have never been successful in GSm technology, 98 % market has been purely of CDMA in Japan. They don’t even know teh GSM technology. Ahhh.
4) How can a Home Appliance company run a mobile phone brand. We have seen tehf ailures of ONIDA/HAIER/PANASONIC etc etc etc………………..

hi guys,
AKAI was famous for VCP in 1990′s.now we do not know the present status of the company.it is basically a lower end player just like videocon.but becos of the digital revolution so many companies r doing well.so we have to wait and see if AKAI has improved quality.also we have to note that recently videocon has purchased PHILIPS india.

Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung have wide customer bases. LG did have a wide customer base, but unfortunately for LG, it has shrinked exponentially. Micromax and many other companies have entered this “rat race” to enjoy a little piece of cake called the huge Indian telecom industry. Akai also joined this rat race but I doubt their predictions and their strategies for achieving success that they are expecting.
