Bharti Airtel today slashed its roaming rates by nearly 60% Airtel mobile customers who enroll into the Airtel Turbo plan will be now charged at 60 paisa per minute for all incoming calls while on roaming.
Airtel Turbo offers Local and STD outgoing calls to an Airtel mobile customer while roaming at 60 paisa per minute. While Local and STD outgoing calls to another network while roaming will be 80 paisa per minute. These reduced roaming tariffs spells huge benefits of up to 60% for all Airtel mobile users enrolled under the Airtel Turbo plan.
Airtel Prepaid mobile customers wishing to avail this benefit will be charged a Plan enrolment fee of Rs 98, which gives an incoming validity of one year. Customers will continue to enjoy these tariff benefits as long as they have incoming validity. Airtel customers can also avail the benefits of Airtel Turbo with a monthly rental plan in Postpaid
Airtel Turbo Plan: Benefits

“Our first endeavour has always been to offer competitively superior, differentiated service to all Airtel customers. Recent research has shown that customers need benefits while travelling and are not satisfied with just local calling benefits. Airtel is uniquely poised to be able to meet this need because of its seamless, formidable network presence across India and On-Net strategy. We are delighted to bring Airtel Turbo to customers for them to be able to enjoy the Airtel service in a boundary less manner.” Said Mr. Atul Bindal, President, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel

how to reduce my roaming charges
Nandu Nair November 25, 2009 at 7:13 pm
As far as i know, there are restrictions if you enroll in this offer. You cant recharge with currencies less than 500Rs… And you wont get full talk time benifits unless you charge 1000 and above… This is what I came to know from Customer Care.. Please Confirm.

tel me when was the last time Airtel came up with a unique plan of its own??? Airtel has alws believed in being a follower n never a leader. The game is changing soon.. coverage is improving for other operators now…. so Airtel may not continue winning hearts (for its good coverage)for long…
hemang November 20, 2009 at 2:18 pm
These gimics will come to an end on 31 dec 2009 (when the number portability rule will start to apply)……
Subash November 20, 2009 at 2:06 pm
Airtel is mis-using its position in the market by not providing various schemes others are providing by default. In Airtel, everything comes as a special coupen, with validity period. Airtel must understand many customers are with them for the sake of number. So I am suspicious that they might be lobbying even in delaying the number portability program.
Whatever, Airtel may provide better coverage, but it cheats its customers.
