Hi i am one of your customer from srivilliputtur town (Virudhunagar district). My house is at mettu street in this town. In our street approximately the airtel users are nearly 200. But in past 1 year we are having trouble in getting airtel network in our area. Me and my friends were registered many complaints on customer care, but no response and change. For getting coverage in our mobile we have to come out from our house to street. we cant receive calls and speak while we are at house. So accept this request and do the best earlier.

can u please give me zonal officers number as it s required
by me to deactivate forcibly deducting rs.40 for TV subscription

I called 0-98401-98401 .. Agent ARUL informed me:
the DEACTIVATION can be avoided by making ONE SINGLE CALL.
“Without a profit customers cannot use the service”
So clearly it is being done to increae revenues and remove customers who only receive incoming calls (DRIVERS, HOUSEWIVES, STUDENTS etc).

A very good step taken by Airtel and I’m sure that other operators will also follow soon.
This is also a very bold step, just a few months before the Mobile Number Portability is comming to the Indian Telecom market.

i think, its misleading info.
as per their rules, even lifetime validity customers r asked to recharge min amt. of rs. 200/- in 6 months, else the number can b deactivated.
n here they say that this notice is not for the lifetime customers. number, that has not been used in the last 6 months continuously, vl b deactivated.
i think even lifetime customers beware of this notice.
Observer November 13, 2009 at 6:02 pm
It has to be. If a number is not in active mode, it is not giving any profit to the company, and in turn no benefit to the government. Rather, there is all chance that the number may be used for other (malintention) purposes. Those should be deactivated.

Hmm… good way to cleanup uninterested users, just a routine cleanup I guess.
avtarkaint November 13, 2009 at 12:27 pm

@San,Its NOT TRUE as you write that->
All Telecom Service Operator doing that to full fill the verification process of Prepaid Service Users as Guided by DOT. It is mandatory to publish the public notice before disconcerting the FAKE Mobile connections/Number not in use and not verified as DOT required.
