there are many subscribers(low end users) who don’t use any power cards(STV).so this freedom plan from AIRTEL will save a lot of money every month for them..for local calls only AIRTEL’s RC 41 in kolkata & ROB circle is also a very good option which provides calls to any local no. @50p/min.and whot don’t want to use this per second billing AIRTEL’s advantage plan i think is suitable for them, which cut down the STD as well as the local call rates..in kolkata AIRTEL has again increased the validity of RC 54(advantage plan)to 1year.but for frequent calling,i think AIRTEL’s freedom plan is not a good option at all.bcoz as it is a STV itself so other STVs can’t be used with this.

Still Airtel is costly than Docomo because

1)Other call at 1.2 paisa per minute means 20% costlier

2)No change in SMS rates in Dcocmo you 100 sms through out for 60 paisa

    3) you need to purchase a SIM and apply this pan for RS 64 in docomo SIM is free with full talk time

4)In this tariff is valid for life but in Airtel tariff is valid for only one year

5)I am sure there are many hidden charges in Airtel

Guys.. well this is the Time where we would probably need to keep two sim cards, One as primary which has good network coverage and the second one with good tariffs.
I use Idea as primary No. as it has a good coverage in Maharashtra and Docomo as secondary.
I would say that do not go for this plan of Airtel and Similar Plans by Idea and Vodafone of 1.2 ps/sec to other operators it will really prove more expensive.
I am going to stick to 50ps plan of Idea with the first call of the day at normal rates which brings it to 15 Rs/Month.

The best Option of two operators would be Reliance with 50ps and docomo with per second. however reliance should work on its network. hence we sholuld stick to our Airtel, Idea or Vodafone.

True but kindly go through in details before posting any thing idiotic… DOCOMO is giving 1p/sec STD for initial 3 months, then after u need to pay 2p/sec.. where as airtel is giving flat 1.2p/sec std for unlimited time… now calculate the same….

Definitely Reliance, Vodafone, Airtel, and BSNL have the best coverage (Karnataka). So unless a person is regularly using a mobile from his home or office almost like a fixed, their superior network coverage will be a plus point compared to new networks that hardly has coverage.

However guys…. till now if service providers were taking you for a ride… now it is customer who is having fun…. more with dual sim and may be with two dual sim phones !

Well dual sim mobiles are so cheap that one can really afford to buy two of them and use four sims of different schemes to not just make paisa wasool…. but it will even make mobile companies cry loud…

Earlier service providers if they provided local call cheap made either sms costly or made std costly or some other problem. Nothing with multiple sims… choose per second pulse sim like tata docomo when you want to make a less 1 minute call…. when you want to make a long local call use tata indicom… want to make regular calls try airtel… vodafone… mtn….. oh…. the list is just endless…..

Now, after Reliance introduced the ‘Simply Reliance Plan’ (50p for all types of calls & SMS), this offer by Airtel has nothing new.

This plan is not all good i think. Friendz, campus users can not use this offer. this is really rubbish. i have a friendz sim and tata docomo. If aritel had offered for friendz too, then i would be really be happy even if it ahd higher rates for other operator as compared to DOCOMO. But still i think DOCOMO is best as they are offering it for lifetime and 1p/s anywhere in india. A big concerned for DOCOMO is their network and i hope they are working on it well.
when we think of future, idea airtel offering for 1yr only, then what after that?? they might withdraw this offer, who knows, so better stick to DOCOMO if anyone is using it like me and use alternative operator too just for backup.
Also, if anyone uses this offer, he doesn’t get any another benefits, new offers, add on packs and even 100% TALKTIME too..

SUPER FLOP BHANGAR PLAN by Airtel
    1. Other Network call still very expensive, It cost approx 90 paisa for minute because No Full Talk Time RC allowed.
    2. No Changes in Roaming rates
    3. SMS Charges are too High, Local SMS cost Rs.1 and National SMS cost Rs.1.50

    SIMPLY RELIANCE STILL ROCKS!!!
    1. ROAMING INCOMING OUTGOING 50 PAISE
    2. ALL NETWORK SAME CHARGES

    @S.J.B
Yes, Idea has launched per second billing in Maharashtra & Goa. I got to know it from retailer but he don’t have detailed info. He told that we ‘ll get official information by evening. Even customer care executives are telling same. On the other hand, Airtel is very aggressive on its per second freedom plan. All retailers have printed & proper information of this plan. Now IVRs like 121 & 12131 are also updated with info about freedom plan.

IDEA has followed Airtels Footsteps and launched the same tariff in Maharashtra and Goa.. Every time Idea launches the same tariff as Airtel after Airtel Launches.. why cant it bring in its own tariff?

Not a good plan…Its STD/LOCAL 60 Paisa per minute proves better than this Freedom Plan..How is it called “Freedom Plan” even call rates not same for other networks. It will FLOP like “Airtel Advantage Plan” where STD to only Airtel is 50 Paisa.
I hope VODAFONE will launch having real Freedom to call any network with same rate per second.

Docomo rocks….this big operators are cheating

I don’t think so.. Airtel providing the best network, and finally how much you save say 100 – 200 rupees.
I don’t mind to pay extra if i am getting always connectivity with good service.

Regulator in UK, Ofcom mulls mandatory ‘try-before-you-buy’ scheme to be offered to mobile subscribers

Mobile subscribers in India are not alone when it comes to call drop issues and other network coverage related issues. But while the regulator and mobile service providers have achieved little to overcome the challenge, UK’s telecom regulator, Ofcom has come out with a new policy proposal making it mandatory for mobile service providers to offer subscribers a ‘try-before-you’ scheme.

A consumer panel set-up by Ofcom says that in a survey carried over 1,700 adults subscribing to mobile services, more than half complained of experiencing disruptions in mobile connectivity with more than 30 % claiming this to be a regular annoyance. In the SME segment, 91 % say that the network issue had affected business.

Anna Bradley, chairwoman of the panel, said: “While all the focus is on rolling out new services like mobile broadband, our research reveals that large numbers of consumers and small business employees are still having problems making even basic voice calls. This kind of basic coverage is hugely important to consumers and essential for small businesses to thrive. It’s essential that consumers aren’t trapped into contracts that don’t give them the coverage they need,” says Anna Bradley, Chairperson of the Ofcom consumer panel.

“We would like to see providers offering consumers a ‘try before you buy’ clause that allows them to use their mobile and, if they don’t get coverage, take it back,” she adds.

As per the survey 36 % of mobile subscribers have encountered ‘not spots’ where absolutely no reception is available. Additionally 20 % subscribers claim that poor sound quality and text messaging being delivered late were also common phenomenon. Subscribers rank coverage at home at the top ahead of factors such as cost of the phone, quality of customer service and type of handset while subscribing to a mobile service, reveals the survey.

Amidst all these issues, only 2 % of the subscribers decided to change their networks.

why should we take a plan for one year from airtel and vodafone when we are getting the same plan of per second plan for lifetime in tata docomo and 100 national or local sms free afetr 1st sms and also there are no sms pack in vodafone if you opt for per second plan.
