Airtel Launches Unlimited 3G High Speed Data Card Plan – Airtel Super 950

Bharti Airtel today announced the launch of new 3g data plan “Airtel Super 950” in Rajasthan telecom circle. This unlimited 3G high speed USB data card plan is priced at only Rs 950/month and the customer will get a speed of upto 7.2 MBPS for first 6 GB data as a promotional offer.

Airtel 3G is available across 42 towns in Rajasthan and “Airtel Super 950” plan will give best value for money with unlimited data (6 GB) at best or higher speed to airtel’s high-end 3G data users.

The 3G high speed USB data card “Airtel Super 950” plan offers speed up to 7.2 Mbps that is more than double of the speed offered by CDMA. In Rajasthan circle, CDMA/EVDO data service provider MTS, is most preferred data network for Data Card or Wireless Broadband users,  So it seems, to counter the MTS offerings, Airtel bring this plan to the peoples of Rajasthan.

Beyond 6 GB, unlimited free downloading speed at 20 kbps. The offer will be valid till 3G Double Dhamaka offer lasts (till 31st Dec 2011), after which the high speed data would be only 2.5 GB.

But still it is much more cheap than BSNL.

Airtel stop making fool people…..you say unlimited but you provide 6 GB for Rs. 950 afterwards it will be 20 Kbps. At least you should give 384 Kbps in stead for 20 Kbps. Switch user to HSPA to WCDMA only. I appeal to the people using airtel 3G think what i am telling. Dont use their plans if you use then you are promoting their plans and it will never get down in the future.

I think most of Airtel 3G customers are aware of this fact that, Airtel do not allow activation of 3G pack if data is more than 50MB in 2G pack or vice-versa. But there is something in it (50MB mark) that lets you enjoy 3G speed in 2G packs. Airtel is using an algorithm in their systems which restricts the 3G speed to a 2G user if data is more than 50MB. But if it is a single KB less than this 50MB mark, you can enjoy 3G speed by just switching to UMTS mode.
plz elaborate the point no 3 of second method
I wish they had put this restriction over 100MB. But it is still making merry for some people because in this way one can enjoy 1.5GB/3GB of 3G data at just Rs.150/300 over a month. Let me elaborate this:-
    1. Activate Rs.5 plan which gives 50MB usage. Use some KBs. Now you are back to 3G speed as data is less than 50MB and restriction is removed. Use it in modem or phone as modem at 3G speed.
    2. Again activate as data ends.
    3. So in this way if you can spend Rs.10/day (2X5), you will get 100MB of data and over a period of month it will be 3GB for 30 days at Rs.300.
Problems: 1. You have to keep an eye on data left as while downloading at 3G speed as it is a matter of seconds. But for a surfer, it is good.
    2. Activation of pack again.
Other method for getting 2248MB in Rs.250.
    1. Activate Rs.103 plan which gives 200MB for 30 days.
    2. Use more than 150MB as without this you can not activate 2G pack as data will be over 50MB.
    3. Now activate Rs.147-2GB pack and enjoy 3G speed till the validity of 3G pack. First data will get deducted from 3G pack and after that 2G pack.
If they hadn’t reduced data in Rs.98 pack from 4GB (2GB(D)+2GB(N)) to 1GB, it would have been 4.2GB in Rs.201.

I think Govt. should come up with a rule that specifies a minimum speed of 256 or 512Kbps on 3G mobile broadband services Only then Indian consumers expect something in the name of so called Unlimited plans There are so many problems that needs to be resolved in sector but no one has time either the Govt. or the companies or people working-in.
Government is busy looting companies. Companies are busy looting customers and customers are busy in getting looted or crying with sub-standard services and poor after sales services and even after that India is shining
20Kbps is irritating me a lot. It would’ve been better if it was written that you will be charged Rs.0.50/MB after free usage.

After reading this article there is only 1 line I can say about Airtel, “There is nothing worst than Airtel’s think tank”

I mean are they mad or what? Rs.950 for 6GB with dongle only and that too with a pathetic speed of Airtel 3G and again as a promotional offer. I must say, Airtel is the biggest looters among all. At a time when telcos should come up with low cost plans they launched a plan that makes no sense. What category of customers they want to cater with this? Is this how they are thinking of generating revenues from 3G services with no takers?

6GB is nothing for a downlaoder and for a surfer and occasional downloader also it is nothing with speed upto 7.2Mbps and after 6GB only 20Kbps.

But 20Kbps is almost thrice to what they offer in my area on 2G. So big hands to Airtel’s shameless team. What’s in keeping it to 256Kbps? Will customer download 100GB with 256Kbps?

“Indian companies can never tailor plans according to need of Indian consumers”

A meaningless plan by an idiotic company.
