Airtel Launches Per-Sec Roaming Tariffs – All calls at 1.5p/second

Airtel Launches Per-Sec Roaming Tariffs All Roaming local STD calls at 1.5p secondAirtel has finally awoken to the upcoming tariff-war on Roaming-Calls, and launched Per-second tariffs for Roaming Calls.

While Roaming tariffs have been slashed over the last few years, it has been only Tata Docomo and BSNL who have been bold enough to offer PER SECOND / INCOMING FREE call charges, while roaming across India. With Tata Docomo’s RC46 one can avail free incoming calls on Roaming for 60 days, while BSNL has a similar offering with RC150 that includes some freebies as well.

Now Airtel India’s prepaid mobile customers can roam over the country at just 1.5 paisa per second. Airtel introduces a new STV for that purpose, which varies slightly from circle to circle. For eg. Kolkata Airtel customers can recharge with RC25 and roam at 1.5p/sec. Similar STV is available in West Bengal for RC37, while Orissa users pay just Rs28 for getting this benefit on roaming. The offer is a on-going offer.

Finer details of Airtel’s 1.5p/sec Roaming plans:

1. This is available on LAPU Recharge only

2. Applicable for all Prepaid Customers of WBO Only ( Except FWP, CCB, Turbo & Channel)

3. Tariff Validity 6 months

4. Recharge Convenience:

Online PV will be available via SMS (Customer to send SMS to “Roam” to 121) and IVR (Call 12131 to opt online) or available at Retail.

As a special offer, Default Roaming Tariffs at 1.5p/sec (OG/IC) has been given to customers.Validity of Tariff is 3 months for customer base who has been given the benefit by default.

    @Shinefire
All operators give better ON-NET tariffs … so does AIRTEL!!!
    >>Docomo offers roaming only on their network.

Then how does Docomo have 89 Million customers ???
    >>Since Docomo do not have good coverage all over India,

Sez who ? I use DOCOMO AP SIM in KK, TN, KOL, BH networks without any issue!
    >> you will have to roam on other network operators like aircel, idea which is chargeable.

And BSNL charges Rs150 for INCOMING FREE – against DOCOMO Rs46!!
Are you a BSNL agent by any chance ???
    >> The only operator with good coverage all over India who offers incoming calls free all over india is BSNL.

    Nothing is FOOL-Proof in India…
    >> The offers by others are clearly designed to fool customers.

    Who is/was confused ??
    >>Hope this clears the confusion.

RAJ-POOT – you are useless … DOCOMO ROAMING ROCKS !!! I use it almost every day on my Kolkata SIM.

    >> offer launch in extreme frustation……as ntp is on roll…. & docomo 46 recharge is useless as they provide roaming on other operators especially on aircel, idea etc……my own roaming experince on docomo is very bad…..

Airtel per-sec roaming tariffs are joke of the week. BSNL has launched All India roam free pack for Rs.152/- where by the incoming call will be free across all the states where BSNL is available. Why waste money on Airtel’s gimmick if you are a roaming customer?

Airtel, most useless plan / offer

Tatadocomo (Tata Indicom) Assam offers free incoming call all over India except Jammu and Kashmir
Also provide 1 paisa per 2 seconds local/ STD within both circle (home and other circles)

@ SUDHAR 2p/sec for Landline on roaming is not a waste offer – if do not take this offer you would be charged Re1/Re1.50 (Local/STD) per min.

    >> What Rs.0.02 per sec for landlines?. Waste offer.

In Uttar Pradesh West telecom circle, Airtel is offering all incoming & all outgoing calls in roaming @1.5 paisa/sec in Rs. 34 for 90 days only.
It seems that new NTP will not implement this year thats why telecom companies launching STV for roaming

NO… NTP is coming into effect soon and so the private players have started reducing roaming tariffs and want to show they are also good to customers…

Further reducing roaming charges at the time of removal of roaming incoming calls will bring a big slap to their shares and hence they are doing it now, imho….
