Bharti Airtel, one of the leading mobile service operator introduces innovative combo plan with per second billing for STD and per minute charges for Local callings to any network for its customers in Karnataka circle.
Airtel RC149 comes at Rs.149 with talk time of Rs.120 and enabled its customers to make all local calls at 50 paisa per minute while STD calls to anywhere in India will be charged at 1 paisa for one second. The RC149 tariff will be valid for one year from the date of recharge.
Apart from the above tariff subscriber will get 100 Local and 100 National SMS Free per day after first SMS charged at 60p for local and Rs.1.20 for National SMS. Beyond free SMS, charges will be 60p for local and Rs.1.20 for National SMS.

Instead the users can recharge with rs.36 RC so that All Airtel calls(local+STD) at 50p/min and other network(local+STD) at 60p/min. For SMS usage, they can Recharge with RC 52 where user can get 500 SMS free(irrespective of local or National) coming around Rs.1.75 per day for 500 SMS.
By carefully analyzing, they are providing the services with same rates with no extra benefits.

But i had been to banglore(near BTM) ter i used to get around 18KB/s in Airtel while other operators Struggled to reach 14KB/s

Never,I am using all these operators Numbers. The worst speed is given by Airtel yar, less than 5 kbps with full network coverage and using Airtel-Micormax datacard. Docomo is giving the fastest connection, then idea , then aircel and idea. Didnt try reliance for net,. Though edge technology started around 4 years back , airtel have not upgraded the complete towers yet, while docomo aircel idea are having around 90% edge enabled towers and still upgrading. Airtel is the worst operator in bangalore @Amit.G

Its Bcos when Airtel started its operations Edge technology was not used in India, Edge has took its pace from past 4years & mobile Intenet was rare at tat time, but now from past 3 years mobile net has become very popular so EDGE is being implemented. But still Airtel provides best Speed in banglore though it is having nearly 20lak customers ter. Aircel,Docomo,Uninor,Vodafone & Idea stands no where if we compare ter speed with Airtel(ONLY IN BANGLORE)

Airtel has started its operation in india since 1995. but see TATA DoCOMO and Aircel has launched its service few years ago. Still they both holding EDGE tower (for Aircel its not avilable in some part). In short, Airtel has started its journey a decade ago and still upgrading their GPRS tower to EDGE other side this both company has implemented EDGE tower in maximum numbers at starting

Aircel & docomo coverage is 50% less than Airtel, it may be in number of towns or number of towers. Even in big cities Airtel though operating in 900Mhz band has more number of towers than any operator, All new operators Have EDGE network & switching from GPRS to EDGE is just like simple upgradation, Airtel is already working out on tat, They have made Few GPRS towers EDGE enabled.
