    Usin Vodafonne BIS plan fr 399 rs a month! Nd while comparin to Airtel in speed, its a CLEAR winner! I’ll recommend Vodafone to anyone, Hands Down! Very effevtive coustomer care (they really know wt m talkin about nd what my problem is! Never found myself in a sticky situation even once).

  • meghanaraj August 10, 2010 3:56 pm

    I’m using Vodafone 399 plan its really amazing with very good service….

  • Rose August 8, 2010 11:46 pm

    @ Dinesh You Can Go For The 98 Recharge 2gb Gprs Works Just Fine Its Just (Enuf For Me Using Moderately For 6 Hours A Day)

    @ Yunus Go For The 1199 3G Plan That Is The Best Currently Offered By Anyone It Covers BB Mails + IM + Browsing And Unlimited Gprs (FAST 3G)

  • yunus July 29, 2010 3:34 pm

    Hey…am usin mtnl 3G for bb…can I use my bb as a modem to surf d net??

  • dinesh July 27, 2010 11:52 am

    now karnataka airtel customers can enjoy free mobile tv free for three days as additional bonus with rc34 and rc98 gprs packs.

  • Tony_V July 27, 2010 9:20 am

    Now although this is indeed very good news for prepaid customers, as a “devoted” Airtel postpaid Blackberry customer,
    I couldn’t help feeling cheated. Majority of Airtel’s ‘elite’ BB customers are postpaid users. However, when you compare the new prepaid service plan with the postpaid offering, the difference (read discrimination) is clearly and painfully evident.
    While prepaid customers can avail of unlimited BB Internet Services including internet browsing for Rs.399 per month, the postpaid customer is forced to shell out Rs.1099 per month plus Voice Plan Charges, for the VERY SAME SERVICE!!!.
    IMHO, this is daylight robbery, and Airtel should be ashamed. (Personally,

    I’m seriously considering switching to Vodafone pre-paid; I hear the services, including customer care, are a lot better with them.)
    Tony.

  • pritam thakkar July 26, 2010 8:18 pm

    with out blackberry plan can i use gprs in blackberry 8310

  • dinesh July 25, 2010 6:15 pm

    Airtel’s Blackberry Vs normal GPRS

    Other than pricing services difference, one major problem which you face with Airtel’s Blackberry service is that you can’t use Blackberry device as a modem to surf internet on your laptop or PC. Whereas, on simple GPRS this is possible. Go for Vodafone BB service…

  • ARJUN.C July 24, 2010 2:36 pm

    DON’T USE AIRTEL, BECAUSE THIS COMPANY’S GSM SERVICE IS FACING MOST CONGESTION PROBLEMS. HE DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO OPERATE 2G,2.5G NETWORKS PROPERLY AND HOW CAN HE OPERATE 3G? BETTER GO FOR LESS CONGESTED NETWORKS LIKE AIRCEL OR CONGESTION FREE NETWORK LIKE TATA DOCOMO.

  • Ganesh Srinivasan July 24, 2010 1:35 pm

    The difference between BB service and normal GPRS / EDGE services

    When you subscribe for BB services, the data goes through BB servers and they have their proprietary algorithm to compress and decompress data and hence e mail and browsing / downloads are faster. The data exchange is faster even when the normal GPRS / EDGE speeds are bad

    When you subscribe to normal GPRS / EDGE, usually there is no or not as good compression / decompression and hence the speeds vary as with the operators’ network

    I have used BB handset and BB services earlier – was very happy with the speed. Now I use Nokia E63 with Nokia’s offering which is similar to BB e mail service. The speeds were bad with Tata Docomo and now I have switched to Airtel which is better

    If you are a heavy e mail user and related browsing BB is the best.

    However I am waiting for a good tablet device to be launched [essentially bigger screen for browsing]

    How much speed of GPRS according to Broadband ….

    there is very slow speed of gprs when it connected to pc.. no worthful use in pc.. its just for mobile phone only….

  • MaNoJ July 23, 2010 2:33 pm

    ok,but if u compair the features with BB plan with simple GRPS plan again its very disapointing for BB users,in Rs.299 BB plan u cant even brows internet on mobile,while normal gprs plan u not only brows internet u can connect ur mobile to pc & use internet.

    Yes, this is big difference…
    But the reason behind this, Blackberry charge for its fast & reliable push mail service, If you use GPRS than it is very difficult to say that you got or delivered mail immediately.

    I had subscribed to the Airtel 299 plan last year, it worked for a few months and then it stopped working last year. Since then I have been dealing with Airtel Customer service and they have not been able to solve the issue. I keep receiving the same email response from them again and again stating that the issue has been escalated. They have no time frame for the solution. It is very frustrating. I suggest STAY AWAY FROM AIRTEL.

    Here is a sample email from their customer service team which I receive almost daily:

    @Merc
    Thanks for Clarification..

    I am satisfy with BIS at Rs. 299.because I can access my gmail, hotmail, and all hosted mails easily.

  • deepak July 23, 2010 10:41 am

    What is the use of such Blackberry prepaid plans when Airtel doesn’t even support connecting Blackberry to laptop or PC??? BB service is useless in that case. Try calling up their call center they redirect all their users to surf Google. I’ll prefer Vodafone.

  • Merc July 23, 2010 10:39 am

    @typo
    its less secure , as BB server Canada need to first pull the email from office server and this can be intercepted by any investigation agency

  • Merc July 23, 2010 10:38 am

    @MaNoJ
    office mails means BES ( bb enterprise service ) meaning, there will be a BB server installed in employees office which sits along with existing office email servers. and blackberry will connect directly to the server that installed in the corporate office. BES is more secured than BIS, as server is in your office no email goes outside. in normal BIS , you can configure any email id like gmail, hotmail or yahoo. but in this case Blackberry server sitting in Canada pulls the emails from gmail, hotmail n yahoo and pushes to your blackberry. If you office email server supports imap/pop3 then you can use BIS to get that email, but its secure , as BB server Canada need to first pull the email from office server and this can be intercepted by any investigation agency

  • MaNoJ July 23, 2010 9:12 am

    @Sanjay Bafna
    Dear Sanjay Bafna,
    Tell me one thing that what is the meaning of Office emails in Rs 899 Plan, While we can easily configure and use our all types of mails in Rs. 299 or Rs 399 plan also.

  • MaNoJ July 23, 2010 9:07 am

    @dev
    @Keshav Jha
    Fndz,
    Blackberry is known for its fast push mail services, The people who can’t miss their mails they use blackberry smartphone with operator’s BB Plans.
    Blackberry charges are high bcoz of its reliable and fast service you can’t find like this anywhere. So simply blackberry plans are suitable for business man not for entertainment.
    Nokia also providing push mail service which operates on simple GPRS plan but it is not reliable and fast as Blackberry. So Nokia is not charging for its push mail service right now.

  • dinesh July 23, 2010 7:39 am

  • Keshav Jha July 22, 2010 11:57 pm

    Ek normal customer 1 month mein mail aur messenger mein kitna data use karega? 100 se max 200 MB. Browsing include karke 1 GB. Sirf iske liye 399 rupaye? Isse sasta to BSNL/MTNL ka 3G padega wo bhi default plan mein bhi. Blackberry ko hauaa bana ke rakh diya hai.
