We got two Samsung Galaxy A5 smartphones to test the 4G and 3G speeds on offer. Airtel claims that it has upgraded its 3G network to Platinum 3G which offers better speeds than 3G and gives you good speeds when you fall back on it in times of lack of 4G connectivity.

As you can see in the video, the smartphone on the left has Airtel 4G LTE whereas the one on the right has Airtel 3G. Due to a technical issue, the 3G network showed a speed of a little under 1 Mbps but we tried it a couple of times post that and the speeds were around the 6-8 Mbps mark for downloading and around 1-2 Mbps for uploading.

Coming to the 4G speeds, we got about a download speed of about 42 Mbps and an upload speed of 5.53 Mbps. Upon testing it again, we got a download speed of 62.94 Mbps and an upload speed of 8 Mbps. Stay tuned as we will come back with a comprehensive video test of the 4G network in Mumbai.
