Social networking sites are lucrative medium for corporate or Brand owner to get people talking about products and generate interest. As a result India’s fastest growing telecom operator Aircel join hands with FaceBook and has launched a Voice Message Application for FaceBook users.The ‘Aircel Voice SMS FaceBook Application’ allows networking site user’s to leave each other voice messages instead of plain text posts on the social networking website. So no need to pay for Voice SMS sending to your friend if they are on FaceBook!
However, before you jump with joy, let me clarify it again – it’s Web Application for web to web usage. Within 10 days, Aircel has managed to get 190 users to sign up for voice-Sms application.Starcom, the media agency which helped Aircel to launch this application, was clear that they wanted to approach social networks differently. Starcom’s MD Tarun Nigam said: “While many telecom companies are using social networking sites, this is the first time an Indian Telecom Brand Aircel is offering voice messaging service with Face Book. We wanted to take the youth into confidence and think Facebook is a great space to create the buzz.
Brand watchers say that it is one of the best ways for corporate to get people talking about products, generate interest, and create a community of netizens to discuss the products. One of the most important strategies for brands is to get people to talk about their products and review them. Consumers tend to believe their peer reviews more than standalone advertisements.

yes you can do it well with other operators not only with aircel BSNL is cheaper than aircel

Aircel 10paisa per 10kb
Jaspreet Singh June 2, 2009 at 4:08 pm
emad I agree with you however I feel using facebook on the move is very useful it lets me connect to my frens whenever I want and this new feature of voice sms is an added advantage. I know we can do the same with my PC however I feel it’s a little more interesting to send voice over facebook its kewl. I am sure one is ready to do tat extra to be in touch with frens all the time…..

@Mahant Reddy
this is a worthless service it is a web to web voicesms not usefull charges 10 paisa per 10kb required so for a 30 seconds voice sms u have to pay approximatly 6 or seven rupees and recievers must have wap enable hanset than he/she have to download it at the same cost 10 paisa per 10 kb so don’t get fooled by airces dont buy aircel
u will do so from ur pc with any chat client and also u can upload ur file for download with any operator so consider to use aircel voice sms
the cheaper one is available with all operators at the cost of something like 75 paise for both std and local
please note again the network usage charges apply on all applications and site links in aircel. so thinks 100 times before using aircel gprs
Mahant Reddy June 1, 2009 at 4:13 pm
Will the service be similar to voice sms. How do I activate it asap as it sounds really interesting? What other services can I access? Life is becoming coolzzzz!!

It sounds like a nice application but would have been more nice if we were able to send voice messages on mobile and that too to any netowrk.
