aircel will not come up until a good tariff and good service is provided…..
Jay January 2, 2012 at 11:03 pm
@Murali Krishnan
I think in AP circle Aircel provided spl connection for Senior citizens, and they offered many additional additional services like paying bills, ticket bookings right from home for Senior citizens, and as Murali sir said, direct connection to C.care executive. I’m not sure if this is available in all places…
Murali Krishnan January 2, 2012 at 4:50 pm
I called Aircel customer care the other day and my call directly reached the executive. I was informed since I am a senior citizen this is a special service that is provided to us. I am very happy with this.

I THINK IT IS TO SELL OFF THE BUSINESS TO LINUX BASED ORGANIZATION. COZ THEY WILL IMPROVE THE QoS AND COVERAGE. AIRCEL HAS GOOD NETWORK WHEN SHIVASHANKARAN HAS OPERATED IT. WHEN IT HAS SOLD OUT TO MAXIS IT HAS GONE WORST
Jay December 28, 2011 at 11:58 pm
And if u recharge with Rs 135, u can get the same benefit for 6 months…
Jay December 28, 2011 at 11:56 pm
A small mention on the above Info.. This Rate Cutter is applicable only for STD calls as per Aircel’s website.. I’ve been using this Rate Cutter for last few months & it’s not a new one…
Even in TN, Aircel has been pushed down by Airtel , VF & Docomo… Though Docomo’s network is pathetic, even in suburbs of Chennai, people prefer it for their call rates… Aircel has good N/W in TN, in fact I felt it had much better coverage in Rural areas of south TN than Airtel, where only BSNL had coverage other than Aircel…
Now they’ve introduced loads of such nice plans in CHN & TN circles… But, they are never going to get back in the race in TN
Innovative marketing in the likes of Docomo & Vodafone can only help Aircel to boost it’s foot fall in TN…
Sayan December 28, 2011 at 10:45 pm
aircel has good network
Arjun Chandrashekar December 28, 2011 at 3:54 pm
WELL AIRCEL’S COVERAGE IS EXCELLENT IN KOLAR DISTRICT OF KARNATAKA STATE I OBSERVED THAT AIRCEL IS AVAILABLE IN 80% OF KOLAR DISTRICT. AND REMAINING 20% I THINK THEY WILL COVER SOON. THEY ARE ALMOST GETTING PAR HERE WITH VODAFONE COVERAGE.
manish December 27, 2011 at 10:59 pm
how is aircel 2g speed in pune?
M@yur December 27, 2011 at 6:18 pm
@Abhijit
Agree with you…
Sayan December 27, 2011 at 5:43 pm
@sAm
yeah, RGSM is getting strong day by day bcoz in kolkata bcoz of easy availability of RGSM sim .. One can have RGSM sim in kolkata @Rs. 10
Keshav Jha December 27, 2011 at 4:37 pm
Good plan. Now this type of plan should be launched by every operator.
Saurabh December 27, 2011 at 3:45 pm
Yeah, the tower business sell-off was done to get funds for expansion but it actually didn’t worked. Company paid almost 80% of the amount for 3G and now to setup 3G infrastructure took heavy loans . Like any oter telco, they are going thru tough times and debt burden is rising tremendously.
I think, if DoT come-up with M&A policy, Aircel and Tata should merge themselves but they have to return one of the license (2G or 3G) per circle where they have both the license.
Lets see what comes in NTP in June, 2012. Only after that we will see who exits and who survives.
sAm December 27, 2011 at 3:16 pm
@Sayan
Absolutely !!
But growth rate is very very limited in case of d 2 biggies (although official data reports different)
Reliance is coming strong in d market too (particularly RGSM)
Sayan December 27, 2011 at 3:09 pm
@sAm
agree wid u dude.. Bt just 1 yr ago, uninor was sleeping in kolkata.. Sim, rcv were not available in many shops.. But recently they have improoved their network & presence in market a lot.. But still kolkatans are fond of vodafone & airtel.. Aren’t they?
sAm December 27, 2011 at 3:05 pm
@Sayan
Aircel once had their own tower business.But they had sold it too.
Very hard way out there for Aircel..I think they are looking for M&A in d industry so that they can sell-off their entire business too..
sAm December 27, 2011 at 3:02 pm
@Saurabh
I think Aircel is specifically targeting North-East and at d same time ignorance to other parts are costing hard for them.
don’t have any idea regarding Videocon GSM.What they want,they knows only!!
In Kolkta signals of Videocon & Loop are live since 3 years or so..But still none of them able to start their operations.
As a newcomer one and only Uninor is going very strong day by day..They started operations with cheapest tariffs and also strengthening their networks gradually..
Sayan December 27, 2011 at 2:54 pm
in rowb circle aircel is giving service to docomo subscribers.. But, their own subscriber base is decreasing day by day.. It has been heard that docomo is maintaining aircel’s network in rowb circle., here also very few peple are using aircel but docomo a lot which actually uses aircel ‘s network.. Its RIDICULIOUS !
Saurabh December 27, 2011 at 1:17 pm
True. Even Videocon(newcomer) has more customers than Aircel in Haryana but both are on verge of losing.
Saurabh December 27, 2011 at 1:14 pm
Not only there but here in Haryana too. Aircel hasn’t been able to fetch a million customer here in 2 years and even after better than others offerings like all calls @1p/s(local) nad A2A @1p/3s for a year @Rs.116 or 30p/min STD for 90 days @Rs.72 and continuously losing existing customers because of limited network availability which is a cause of concern for customers and avoiding Aircel. They are sharing network with Tata Docomo and not looking at installing their own. Forget about rural connectivity.
Aircel is good in my area but not everywhere in the circle.
You rightly said that Aircel is getting vanished.
Amit.G December 27, 2011 at 9:22 am
Aircel will exit from indian operations very soon. Company is not able to compete with new comers like Uninor and Tata, Has worst network in many places and they dont even bother to improve that. Not active in the market as we don see any billboards of aircel… For iphone people prefer Airtel over Aircel. Except TN aircel is a looser in other circles
singh December 27, 2011 at 8:54 am
i am getting same offer for lifetime only one condition-> minimum 900rs recharge in six month.
Abhijit December 27, 2011 at 7:54 am
In Rest of Maharashtra circle we cannot call STD or even LOCAL number at 0.30ps/min with Idea, Vodafone or Airtel operators… there is no such voucher available here…
For STD they have 0.40ps/min voucher that range between rs.29 to 39 per month
and for local if you are old then 0.50ps/min or 1ps/sec. for new 1.2ps/sec or 0.60ps/min for local calls and further we don’t have any rate cutters available..
So Rest of Maharashtra circle is very expensive as if now with Airtel, Idea or Vodafone nws..
magnet December 27, 2011 at 7:41 am
Does Aircel providing cheapest on-net call rate cutters? What r they?
WiMax December 27, 2011 at 2:15 am
Aircel is totally vanished by tata docomo. Because now tata docomo network is much better than aircel. And tata also gain their active subscriber.
Dino Raj December 27, 2011 at 12:35 am
MTS already has a cheaper deal since long. Signup for the Mbonus program for free and get STV 191 which allows all Local/STD calls at 1p/2sec for 6 months and Rs 50 talktime. Additionally, get 40% discount talktime.
Practically this is STV 23.50 per month for 6 months worry free.
sAm December 26, 2011 at 10:12 pm
@Amit Deb Biswas
Ya..!
I also think so.Aircel lost out from the market after Idea & Tata Docomo started operations.
Kaushik Roy December 26, 2011 at 9:56 pm
STD 30 paisa provided by Vodafone and Airtel in Mumbai the most expensive telecom circle at around Rs 36-37 for 30 days, but not in Kolkata
Amit Deb Biswas December 26, 2011 at 9:35 pm
aircel has become bankrupt by paying auction money..
ved December 26, 2011 at 8:58 pm
Reliance is better 25 RS provide 25p/min for 30 days ……….
WiMax December 26, 2011 at 8:24 pm
I think now a days tata docomo does better job than any other operator
sAm December 26, 2011 at 8:13 pm
What happen to Aircel !!!!
It looks like after the 3G auction Aircel got vanish from the market(at least in Kol&ROWB)..
siva December 26, 2011 at 7:09 pm
Reliance is better, provides STD 25p at Rs.24 for 30 days. And Idea tamilnadu provides same pack at Rs.27
bindesh December 26, 2011 at 6:43 pm
In karanataka RC-35 is priced at Rs. 35 wherein one can make Local and STD calls to any numbers across India at 30 paisa minutes valid for 30 days from the date of recharge.
