Hi All above
I just bought lastweek the 1phone 3gs + new SIM from an AIRCEl center in Bangalore, Activated a 999 Advance voice rental plan and using the SIM with a 3G dongle. With IPHONE 3gs , i am using my AIRTEL postpaid SIM. So far no issues. At the end of 1 year i plan to dispose off the AIRCEL SIM (coz i plan to use the 3g data on my laptop) as the phone itself is not network locked.
Trust this clarifies.
AJAY August 1, 2012 at 6:50 pm

Albert July 31, 2012 at 3:05 pm
@kiran Hmmm…no it don’t. Who said it freezes alot with ios5…it’s much better on ios5.1; and the beta 2 of io6 works real fine on the 3gs.
Albert July 31, 2012 at 3:02 pm
So, I can walk in, pay rs. 13,000 to aircel, and still use my sim card from another provider? This is a real great deal for iphone first-timers! BTW, will I be locked to a payment plan by aircel? What happens after 1 year…do I still have to pay them?
Would be nice if someone who got this deal could let us know.

After the end of contract can i discontinue the Aircel service??
Ganesh Srinivasan July 29, 2012 at 1:47 pm
Just go through the article once again – it clearly states that the handset is not locked to any operator. So you can pay 3,000 on an Aircel connection, get the handset and use it with any SIM card of any operator you are comfortable with
Mujeeb July 28, 2012 at 5:26 am
Is it already factory unlocked? coz i dont wanna use aircel i m ready to pay 3k to aircel for unlocking it but i need unlocked device at the time of purchase itself.
max July 25, 2012 at 6:25 pm
how many people has purchase it. any idea?
ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR July 25, 2012 at 5:00 pm
@Ganesh Srinivasan
Well It’s Worth to Use Aircel in Kolar District
Rajes July 25, 2012 at 8:20 am
Camera is better than 3GS? LOL You are comparing 5MP cam and 0.7MP camera.
Yea I am an user of iPod too.
Ganesh Srinivasan July 24, 2012 at 10:09 pm
If 2G of Aircel works in Kolar Dist, check with them if they would offer 2G plan benefits like 2G data voice minutes and SMS etc. then it may still be worth opting for iPhone 3GS – as it is a great performer. Read my comments regarding my usage of iPod touch
Ganesh Srinivasan July 24, 2012 at 10:02 pm
I agree 3GS is not a bad handset. I am using iPod touch – similar clock speed, memory etc (but better screen and camera compared to 3GS) with about 115 apps loaded. It works great – the touch screen performance is consistent and great. iPod touch is similarly priced, I bought for 13,500
In the last 6 months I have booted my laptop only 3 times and for all my official needs I am using my iPod touch only – including typing out this comment.
Why am I saying it is a bold move by Aircel – they are not following the rule set by big brother Airtel who is the other partner for iPhone
Few days after launching iPhone 4S on similar terms like Airtel, they announced and implemented one year data plan voice plan and SMS plan free for 1 year – though I don’t remember the exact terms, for those who pay the full price for iPhone 4S. Airtel didn’t offer anything like that at all
Which is why I am saying it is a bold move by them – wait and watch they will not follow big brother when iPhone 5 launches
ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR July 24, 2012 at 5:49 pm
@Ganesh Srinivasan
Yes Might Be But I Hate Aircel to Select that Foolish TATA DOCOMO as their Intra circle Roaming Partner Where If I’m unable to Get AIRCEL network I Need To Select TD Network But in Kolar District TATA DOCOMO is worst than AIRCEL. So This ICRA is not applicable for AIRCEL
Tarun del July 24, 2012 at 10:28 am
@-RP-
Mr. RP
If you don’t like 3GS that does not mean nobody will like it…. even if it is discontinued…. this is not a bad deal….. 3GS is still better than a lot of phone in that range…
You are in India and not everybody might be wealthy enough to cough for 4GS
-RP- July 23, 2012 at 2:22 pm
Good move to clear stock of the soon to be discontinued 3GS.
People say good move by Aircel ,bold move.
I say “Good offer for fools. Go get fooled.” LOL
Those who are hoping they would get IP5 at competitive price. Ask yourself a question, why can’t Aircel sell IP4/4S at such prices ?
Kiran July 23, 2012 at 1:25 pm
Once the online payment is placed successfully, a sales representative from Aircel will visit you within 4 business days to get the form signed & collect the required documents and Rs.3000 in cash for plan activation. Following are the requirements:
At the time when Aircel’s sales representative visits you, you need to hand over Rs.3000 in cash for the bundled data plan. The sales representative will issue you a receipt of Rs. 3000
Once the paper-work is completed & money has been collected, the handset will be shipped to you within 5 to 7 business days
If the paperwork & other parameters are not met, the sales representative will not collect Rs.3000 from you & the amount paid ONLINE today will be refunded within 3 to 5 business days without any deduction.
abhijith July 22, 2012 at 8:12 pm
Hey . . I read a topic in ibn news website that aircel providing cheaper than other providers selling iphone world wide . so now i commanding this as VALUE FOR MONEY OFFER . . Nothing more than that
novicefreak1 July 22, 2012 at 12:29 pm
Great to see such a good move by Aircel. I would have gone ahead, if his phone had a front camera. Guess there would be some good offers for upcoming iPhone..
plan July 22, 2012 at 2:05 am
HEY LISTEN ALL READERS:)
IS IM WRONG ???
if u dont like dont buy it. Just simple yar.
But our country’s operators need such bold moves, not always looting indian customers.
Atleast AIRCEL is providing the value to your money. It may be out dated, it may be dumping old stock in india bla. . bla. . bla. . But i would like to remind u all that at this price not a single customer looting company weather it may be service provider or whole seller will provide you such deal/offer a true value to your money.
If you dont like product left it,
atleast APPRECIATE THE REALLY BOLD MOVE, A GAME CHANGER PLAN BY ATLEAST ONE INDIAN COMPANY. .
Saale sab ne loota hi hai,
Apna faida hi dekha hi hai,
Customer k bare me kisne socha?
Well done AIRCEL. . .
Hats off to you…
Lets every one to follow you.
Himank July 21, 2012 at 6:28 pm
@vinay Not same copy its CRAP copy.
vinay July 21, 2012 at 6:20 pm
chinese launched the same copy of apple i phone series in much cheaper price..why cant indians hold their money in their own country when labor cost is much cheaper here..either blocl apple or bound to sell at the cheap..or make duplicate..
Himank July 21, 2012 at 6:07 pm
Tempting offer
Ganesh Srinivasan July 21, 2012 at 2:03 pm
I would tend to disagree
Even in China for the latest iPhone 4S, the telecom operators offer for free with 2 years contract
Only in India we pay full price + monthly charges
As I said earlier Aircel has done a bold move, I am seeing it as a prelude to iPhone 5 launch and eventually other high end phones
rahulraj July 21, 2012 at 1:12 pm
+1
moreover these companies use India as a dumping ground
Ganesh Srinivasan July 21, 2012 at 12:31 pm
Just grab it and use it as your second phone
Shift the data subscribed card (3,000 advance rental paid one) to your preferred phone
I guess this scheme would work
Ganesh Srinivasan July 21, 2012 at 12:21 pm
+ 1
Pratham Dhillon July 21, 2012 at 10:05 am
I’m using Aircel from 2 years and it is the best operator in Haryana in terms of 2G speed which is 25kB/s or above all the time, cheap voice tariffs and rate cutter packs, gives extra talktime on online recharges and much more. Yet they have very little customers, I don’t know why? I just love Aircel. But coverage in villages is not good because Tata Docomo network is not present in villages. I hope they install their towers soon.
Esmail July 21, 2012 at 9:06 am
Yes, more and more operators should come up with such offers, for iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC one, etc. offer attractive data, voice and text bundles with advance rental, but the device should not be network locked.
Ganesh Srinivasan July 21, 2012 at 4:29 am
I see it as a step towards forthcoming iPhone 5, Aircel would come with some lucrative offers for iPhone 5
Aircel is setting the trend for iPhone and even other makes / models to follow. Look at it closely it is a very bold move – you get a bundled and unlimited data for 1 year and take suitable voice plan as per your needs
I agree with the view iPhone 3GS is outdated – iOS 5 makes it very slow, but without that you don’t get iCloud, which is very convenient to sync contacts, calendar, documents etc across multiple devices
I am foreseeing Airtel rocking in near future with lucrative offers on iPhone 5 when it launches and on other handsets
Rakesh Kumar July 21, 2012 at 4:22 am

Kanaga Deepan N July 21, 2012 at 1:46 am

Esmail July 20, 2012 at 11:03 pm

kiran July 20, 2012 at 10:45 pm
