Friends i used many ISP’s on mobile like vodaphone, airtel, docomo to be frank aircel beat them all by like king its truly unlimited when i first heard i cant even believe … so i used 14 Rs plan and its amazing and i almost used around 750mb+ of total net usage in 2n half days now planning to get 98 RS plan
i also tried 3g of 17 RS but it fails as 3g is not available in our region its no use after 100mb i am getting even lower speed than 2g
soo my suggestion just chose u r plan and enjoy
use IDM ( Internet Download Manager ) i am getting around 26-30kbps soo that means i am downloading around almost like i can download a movie in 7-8 hours good for me as i get to see new movie every day

Yes, you can download also anything on your pc that is available for free either it be songs, videos, apps. But I request you not to use pirated softwares. Btw this is an old news. Though Aircel has make their GPRS plans unlimited again but I request you to please check offers for your circle on their website or call 121 for info. on IVR/CC.

Their service is really bad, I thought to use the service with my Blackberry as they advertise so good but they said that they donot offer service with blackberry. They donot mention it any where, top it all they deducted my money for some thing they never used, called their customer service, they said that they cant do anything. It was hight now, I’m a regular user of Idea and swithed back to Idea. Burried their chip deep into EARTH!!! I have wrote it several times in different forums and would keep doing the same. They should understand that thousand good customer is equal to 1 bad customer, he can ruin you badly.

1.If ur using internet for only above mentioned things then go for TATA DOCOMO 95/- pack (200mb free between 7am-11pm & 4GB free betwn 11pm-7am) or Aircel pocket internet 98/month or Airtel 98/m2GB free.
2.YES Aircel offers unlimited browsing for 98/month & now even Airtel offers 2GB free usage for98/month.
3. yup u can connect to laptop if u have GPRS/EDGE enabled handset wit USB connectivity.
4. Docomo offers good speed(140-210kbps) compared to Aircel & connectivity is stable.Aircel offers speed upto 260kbps but now it won give tat much & it ll frequently come down to zero. Airtel can give 160-215kbps provided tower is EDGE enabled or else 45kbps.

yes u can use internet through ur phone but for tat u need to have pc suite in ur computer eg. if u have nokia 5800 or some other gprs/EDGE enabled phone then u sould have nokia pc suite in ur pc(can install it from t cd given wit ur phone or else csn download from net). in pc suite u have an option connect to internet jus click on it & give correct Apn. u can enjoy internet

i got forgot to mention that Aircel has the same problem in my area,their cell sites r installed around our colony like, sgr airport,Alamdar road ,ompora, sheikhpora, i am always getting full signal bars but the gprs service remains highly disturbed during the day and night as well…now i hav stopped using Aircel fortunately not being my contact no, i hav put a lots of faith on vodafone till know and am happy to keep it my primary, rest i am using for the gprs, i think data services from bsnl r better than others

@Fahad, i had applied for a bsnl conxn got it activated yesterday, am using the gprs and finaly it solved my problem which i faced in my area and besides idea the only company to provide satisfactory service also reliable at affordable costs, the prob bro.. Is that when i contact cc for gprs pack info, she told me that we don’t have any update regarding j&k and also that 5 newly launched packs, bro can u help me regarding thir, perheps u r using bsnl conxn ,am waiting for the response also…wth regards

Airtel’s service quality is slowly going down… these ppl still dont have EDGE enabled towers in north karnataka…. wait Airtel now time has changed earlier u made ghuge customers cos u were t only operator to have coverage in rural areas now almost all operators r entering so ur business ll not shine until & unless u improve ur network

MAx speed during morning 335kbps
average speed while downloading file 215-260kbps
during peak hours 80-170kbps
all these speeds r ok for me & it takes less than 2 sec to open google home page

in bangalore airtel 2GB/ Rs 98 per month is a good overall deal. If you want fast internet then BSNL 3G is the only choice, it is amazing but costlier. BSNL Sim Rs59, First recharge of Rs.120 gives 25MB download, then Re 1/MB.

Hi Remya and others who are not satisfied with aircel GPRS,
I am from Bangalore and using Aircel 98 rs GPRS packs. I am using Micormax mmx300g datacard and getting an average speed of 20 kpbs. sometime the speed will be more than 100 kbps. With 98 rupees i am very much satisfied with this. I used airtel GPRS 98 rs in my home but i did not get this much speed. The reason may be I have 100% sigal for Aircel but Airtel i have just 2 bars. Only one pblm that i am facing with all these sims are the after connecting to the net in between data will not be transeferd, we can see the statistics showing rate as 0kbps. but i am facing this issue with all the service providers.
To be in 1 sentence with 98 rs i am satisfied with this Aircel gprs pack

I think its happen cos of network get overload.. Due to calls and data use… In aircel karnataka there is no problem.. Few days back same problem with tata docomo but they solved this problem…

yes, it is the biggest drawback of this network that the sessions get last and then the so called edge sign E disappears and also happens with reliance gsm, i wonder how they continue with the crap services like this..Aircel providing the baits like pc connectivity is also offered wth the same pack but it takes ur heart out to get access to a page on mobile and God knows abt the pc,overall it is a flop plan from a worst data service provider..

Sahe kaha, i got my idea number activated exactaly on the 7th day of the week than imediately i saw the gprs signal, i got the settings by typing “SET” and send it to 54671 then i got “idea internet” settings with service items web,accesspoint &mms support,but i faced the problem wth opera which wasn’t running wth the same settings in socket mode then i changed the internal opera network settings to http mode which finaly solved the problem,i tried ananthor alternate manual settings only after trying several access point bearer namer,then i setup one acess point, in bearer settings i wrote “internet” and kept it preferred access point and what happend the speed was awasome and greater than their deafult setting,realy i got the prize after trying it..

actualy i am using idea postpaid service and let me provide an info regarding installed sites.. Jamia masjid sgr,gojwara,nowshera,peerbagh,parrypora,alistang,batamaloo1&2,harising highstreet sgr,rajbagh,wazirbagh.i hav noticed them live and yes 98pack is not avaliable bt wl be in a week take my word,regarding vodafone live speed wont matter at dis time beacuse we 2 guyz i think r carving for this and also there is no server access with imp links like gmail,msn,ymail etc also u cant browse from the live service just a portal u know and i hav marked ur words in few days gprs to be launched, hope it goes like that…and number wl be activated soon yar,phir bhe deafult 2p/kb pe thoda use karna accha lage ga, take care

I have recently started using Aircel connection and I have also used this GPRS 98Rs pack for one month but the speed of the GPRS service is very poor, once you enter the site you have to wait minimum 10 minutes to open the window.

It works well only near BTS when u r little away from the towers the service gets adversely affected and there always remains a doubt whether a file above 1mb will get downloaded or not as the sessisons get closed by the network.

I also contact customer care, they can’t solve this problem. gprs setting saved in my mobile by default. now i can open all site in my PC connecting through data cable, but i can’t open in my Mobile. Hand set is “N72″. Web adress i typed “m.orkut.com”,”web.orkut.com” and all sites like “niitstudent.com”,”nos.com” etc. But these all sites are open in my PC not in Mobile, that error msg come again & again. for mobile u need Opera mini Mod version
and creat one Access point rcomwap
but reliance give True GPRS/EDGE service thats RCOMNET 60ps/min and in night time 30ps/min
if u use RCOmNET access point u dont need to do above Bla bla bla…..
But RCOMNET dont have monthly or daily pack…

After AIRTEL has stopped its NOP@99/pm, I tried AIRCEL’s Pocket Internet @ 98/pm
Speed is worth for what u pay.
Its Unlimited with POP3, PC Connectivity tooo. You can access ur gmail or anyother pop3 based emails directly to ur mobile’s inbox.

aircel gprs has very poor gprs speed in guwahati the speed is 40-50Kb/sec but in kokrajhar the speed is 10-15Kb/sec it was wrong u have to check it what the wrong is…hello sir u have to try to keep speed better in which customer attracts ur internet in some networks there is 3G also 3G is faster than ur gprs so try to fast ur internet to be in competition in 3G,internet so u try to read my words…

if u talk about speed than i can’t tell u.because it connects for 10-15 seconds and then goes on hold .so its really pathetic here.

Yes friend. I have used but just as testing purpose. They have 2.5G EDGE connectivity at some places & 2.75G EDGE at some places.(in pune, mumbai & surrounde area atleast where I tested it). Speed is around 20-22KB/s with my nokia N79 which support class 32 of EDGE. When phone comes under 2.75G EDGE, it falls to 10-15KB/s. Overall its good for browsing but certainly not reliable PC/laptop connectivity considering this speed fluctuation.

If you use on mobile, then also what speed I am getting with Aircel is not enough specially when you want to download heavy stuffs. For browsing, it is bit poor with phone’s defaults browser. But if you use good browser with high data compressing technology(like opera mini), then its ok ok. I learnt that I cant expect much at such cheaper prices. So by considering price, it is good deal to have it just for browsing stuff on mobile not for connecting to pc & downloading…

Yes, you can connect your cell to PC to browse internet. But worst part is its speed. Atleast at my place, it sucks though I get good signal strength with EDGE connectivity. My handset is N79 which has high speed net capabilities (37KB/s=296kpps). I normally get around 25-27KB/s with Airtel & idea, around 20KB/s with vodafone but with Aircel, it is max upto 8KB/s… It is not enough to browse net on PC. I am frustrated with this so called pocket internet service.

had been searching n tryin all the options submitted on net
this is just for guys like me who have no idea about settings n r searchin for same, here is a clue
type ‘aircelgprs nok n79? and send it to 52346
as mine is nokia phone n n79 model
For ppl using other models type first 3 letters of ur phone followed by model number and everything in small letters.
About aircel gprs, its fast enough,access all the sites.
infact managed to update my phone over the air. downloaded 4.1mb file in say 10 minutes, so guess the speed should be around 20kbps.

hi, i have activated Rs.98 Pocket internet on my new Aircel sim n have tried sendin all sorts of msgs to retrieve GPRS settings. i tried calling costumer care but no 1 answered from other side. was made to listen to tht stupid waitin tune for more than 2 hours.
Somebody please please provide me with the proper step by step settings to use GPRS on phone.
Mine is nokia N79.
would really appreciate tht. Please please dont let go my money to waste

I think Aircel GPRS is great! All one has to do is have a handset that is GPRS enabled and store the WAP settings and one does not really need Customer care If the simple steps are followed… its not that bad guys.. and besides it’s the best deal for students with our ever empty pockets

The Unlimited shuffle on caller tune means aircel customers can change the Caller Tune songs without paying the song charges. However the Monthly Rent will be applicable for caller tune service, but the song charges will waived off if customers use that Rs.98 Unlimited GPRS card.
