Today, I noticed that Airtel is flashing USSD last call transaction details in some advanced manner. I have recharged my secondary number with RC45 which offer all local calls @50p/min(in M&G circle). When I disconnect chargeable call, USSD message is showing details like: Current balance, last call cost, duration of call(in minutes) & money I saved with that call (w.r.t. default 1Re/min).
Earlier it was just showing last call cost details, new balance & then long advertisement text. So new one is better than previous.

Nop. If I am not wrong, he is talking about flash USSD message that immediately appears after disconnecting a chargeable outgoing call. In India, as of now only prepaid customers have this facility. I have Airtel postpaid now & also had used Vodafone IN’s & Idea’s postpaid before but havent come across any such facility.
As you mentioned, that *121# works fine for me & quite sufficient to track usages. but ya, unbilled section of that service (*121*2#) updates only after a day of use. You can also get those details via sms by sending UNB to 121.

@vinay
Airtel postpaid already offers that but updated every day, not immediately. For unbilled amount *121*2# works fine.

Oh, you are wrong dude! Do you know that AT&T in U.S., 3 mobile in Australia do offer last call transaction details to postpaid users via USSD service. I just have idea about these two companies who offer this service as I personally used services by them but I believe there could be so many operators in world who offers same service.
Can I know what this HOTBILL stuff is? Its not a big deal to offer last call transaction details to postpaid offers & do not require any special technique than just additional database servers. But already postpaid user management costs are high (generation, processing & distribution of paper bills). It cost around 35Rs per customer. Thats why operators hesitate to introduce any such service.

VINAY I think you dont realise that a POSTPAID custmer is a person who does not need to know about the COST of a call, immediately after it has been concluded – this is something I have come to learn, having been in Telecom since the last 10+ years. In case you feel someone in Postpaid wants to know his/her balance, please ask him to change over to PREPAID immediately – he is clearly barking up the wrong tree, as this instant update requires HOTBILL (which is something NO OPERTAOR anywhere in the WORLD offers).
>>just like that the same facility shud also b made available to post-paid ie billing customers.

With the age of almost FREE video-conferencing, who will book this scheme with Rs1 per participant per minute and special booking amount… This scheme is good neither for common man nor for corporates…
Aircel bring down the roaming rates down first, instead of launching ridiculous conference and mGurudeva services, which may not give huge margin to you, as there will be very few takers only…

disparity in transparency seen in pre-paid customers n post-paid customers.
pre-paid customers can come to know abt the actual cost of the call made by them or sms sent, etc. from the balance available. now some operators like rel/bsnl gv immediately call duration cost, balance available at the end of call/sending of sms. just like that the same facility shud also b made available to post-paid ie billing customers.
for this, operators can devise a system so that billing customers can come to know the amount of bill outstanding since say, first day of the month. so the mobile user before making the call check the balance bill outstanding and subsequent to the call, again check the bill. the difference in the bill will b the actual cost of that particular call. or else, they can simply send the msg at end of call (just like in pre-paid), abt the last call duration, cost charged, progressive bill amt (like balance available in pre-paid) etc.
this system will keep a check on unreasonably high bills charged by operators and also keep billing customers on par with pre-paid customers.
