India’s leading GSM mobile service operators Aircel and Idea cellular has been short listed for the Global Mobile Awards-2010, which will be held on 16th February 2010 at the GSM Association’s (GSMA) Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Aircel,the 5th largest GSM operator in tesrm of subscriber base, has been nominated in two categories, its Unlimited DialerTunes has been short listed for Best Mobile Music Service while its most popular Aircel Pocket Internet (PI Rs.14 and Rs.98) for Best Mobile Internet Service.
Another GSM operator, Idea Cellular, has been nominated for its Insta Alert service under Best Billing and Customer Care Solution category. Insta Alert is a tool to convey offers to users who are inactive on the network.
The leading VAS provider Suvidha Starnet Private Limited has been short listed for its Beam – Simple Money Service/ Bill payment service under the Best Mobile Money for the Non-banking Service. The Beam is a micro payment service through which a person can make money transfers to his account using pre-paid coupons against a mobile number.
The GSMA’S Mobile World Congress is the combination of an exhibition for the GSM mobile industry and a conference featuring chief executives representing mobile operators, vendors and content owners from across the world. Spanning 219 countries, the GSMA consists of nearly 800 of the world’s mobile operators, as well as more than 200 companies from handset makers, software companies, equipment providers, Internet companies, and media and entertainment organizations.
The Global Mobile Awards by GSM Association’s (GSMA) are judged by more than 100 independent journalists, Industry experts, analysts, academics and subject experts.

Aircel must be awarded for Dialer tunes and of course Pocket Internet. You people must have to Set the network Manually in order to get full Experience with Aircel Network

Ok million praises for them to emerge out of gaints but wht abt the service logicaly saying dey need to upgrade the network when dey know we have options left,how long could the customer persist if the service from aircel continue like this ie hollow praises but no no customer delight

aircel net packs are fake. the gives no gprs at 14 pack. i recharge 10 times but give me net only 3 -4 times.every time when i call customer care they told me “our system is upgradeing” but sine last 5 months they not able to upgrade their system.

Reliance should be awarded in Caller tune category, they activated their reliance tune as the caller tune in my in-laws number, and they dont let me deactivate it, the sms code they gave to send , doesn’t work

yes, why not? aircel should b nominated for diler tune category……..they set dialer tune of the customer without any subscription any duduct your balance………..this is a very common problem faced by the aircel customer of west bengal……….

They provided ths buls**t lyk speed frm the day when rc 98 was launched…
If u havn’t rechargd ur no with 98 or 14 ur gprs speed wil b ok..try it…aftr rchrgng wid ths coupons speed bcums hel nd 4m 10kbps it goes down to 800bytes/sec
and no 1 ever wil thnk in drmz to use torents with this crap aircel and if u r taking about songs then u must be knowng that nowadays email atachment size supported by many mobiles are 5mb..so why not we can download a 3 or 4 mb song..whch u said it is a misuse of gprs…it is meant for ths….so so so thnk it urself buddyB-)…aircel catched customers only by advrtsn unlimited net on phone and laptop or p.c nd nt by advrtisng unlimitd gprs for u 2 check mails…
For emails they are providing blackberry service…

Aircel pocket internet is being misused, It was meant to be used with apps/browser from your mobile, not to tether it to a PC/laptop and leech torrents.
Once aircel puts a good firewall in place to block all p2p apps, the experience of Aircel pocket internet will improve

Guys, slow speed is not the matter. Main thing is that revolution in mobile internet plans is only possible becoz of AIRCEL. It deserve for that. Thats why becoz of competition almost all companies have launched many good plans and still looking for some lucrative options.
