AIRCEL 3G Mobile Services Now in Hyderabad, Cochin and Srinagar

AIRCEL the fast growing Pan India telecom operator in the country, today announced launch of 3G Mobile and Data service in 3 more circles Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad), Kerala (Cochin) and Jammu & Kashmir (Srinagar)

With the launch of 3G service in Hyderabad, Cochin/Kochi and Srinagar, now Aircel 3G launch completed in 10 telecom circles out of 13 wherein the operator has 3G spectrum. The 10 telecom circles are Chennai (TN), Karnataka, UP East (Lucknow), Kolkata, Bihar & Jharkhand (Patna), Assam (Guwahati), Orissa (Bhubaneswar ) Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir.

Aircel will launch 3G services in the remaining cities and circles like Punjab, North East and West Bengal with in the March-2011.

As an Introductory offer Aircel announced FREE Trial of its 3G service along with free data usage and video callings for all its postpaid and prepaid subscribers in Hyderabad (AP), Cochin (Kerala) and Srinagar (J&K). To Avail the FREE 3G Offer subscriber needs to send SMS “START 3G” to 121.

With the FREE 3G Trial Offer customer can enjoy host of 3G service like Mobile Broadband (3G Data Service) up to 250 MB and 50 Minutes of FREE Video Callings. Beyond Free usage Data charges will be 3p/10kB (Rs 3/MB) and Video call charge 5p/sec (Rs 3/min). The offer will be available from 1st March to 6th March 2011.

I am unable to ge 3g service in mobile i.e.Micromax A60 which is suitable to 3g services. I gave complaint also but there is no response. customer care is not doing property.

I guess in your case what i assume is that there isnt sufficient bandwidth to even conduct a call! i have myself used aircel in hyderabad and trust me i went through call dropping whild driving under bridges.flyovers.
I even tried their edge/gprs internet and did notice they cannot provide constant speed of 56kbps on edge.
its all related to bandwidth even a voice call requires 28kbps data rate to give a decent call quality.
And as far i think Aircel uses worst voice codecs for calls and they compress it to the extend that even the talking experience on their network is a harrowing experience!!
My only question is with MNP around why are people sticking to one operator?
These operators issues are in every country, one circle A operator might be best but same operator might not be good in circle B. Now that was a problem before MNP arrived in india, i guess you should switch to different operator.
Atleast my perception about Aircel is cost effective providers need not be quality operators.
MOVE ON MATE!!!

@vybhav: no dear, whenevr i call customer care it works well. but while calling any other number i only hear the voice of the person callng me but instead of my shouting meri awaaz usse jati hi nhai… n today i almost abused them on 121.. phir jake they oddered me free 150MB n 50 minutes of video calling… bt the calling problm in still d same :’(

@waris .. i guess fahad wont be able to help you because since aircel launched 3g services their covergae has gone from bad to worst..
Normally in a 3G environment what happens is that if the 3G signal isnt strong it switches to Edge .. With aircel the issue is that their EDGE signal is equally weak.. So basically your handset is searching for hsdpa and edge both, but unable to connect to either of them!!
End result is call drops or blackout as in your case..
Switch to a network which is good in terms of coverage..
As in Hyderabad onkly airtel idea and relaince have unmatched coverage .. so i am sure in srinagar atleast one providers should be having quality coverage .. and i sincerely hope that one shouldnt be BSNL!!

just switch off ua no. for one full night after sendnd an sms as start 3g on 121….
next day chek ua 3g bal by sendng n sms on 121. … a msg will. flash on ua display nd it will display ua 3g account bal….

Aircel network coverage is the worst!! I just get 3 bars at most.. at times it keeps on searching for the signal .. Any person using a htc or iphone would dread switching to aircel because of pathetic coverage and why not it affects the handset life!
No wonder why airtel and tata docomo charges are so high for 3g data..They atleast know that their network is a standard quality unlike aircel ! But a good thing use the 250 MB data and chuck the sim till they improve the network..Anything that comes cheap will be substandard!!

fahad bro.. they even charge me from main balance.. from yesterday i lost about 80 rupees .
n whenever i call someone from my cell while in 3g mode.. the recipient dsnt get my voice nthng.. meri awaaz recipent ko nhai jati pr uski awaaz main sunpata hun.. u kno wt to do plz help

Network is pathetic in Mumbai. Mostly unreachable. Worse, they advertise for Wi-fi and launch 3G in a low-profile manner, since no TV ads yet.

Cheaters didn’t credited any free data in my account…
For them galaxy 5 is not a 3g compatible handset…
Bloody dumbasz….
I am able to use their 3g service but they are charging me from main a/c…
But they are having the strong indoor and outdoor network…i use to get ful signal all the time…
While as in rgsm the signal usually gets stuck at 1 bar in 3g nd 2-3 bars in 2g…
Both r bakwaaaaaaas………

Hyderabad finally got its first 3G service provider AIRCEL, well i dont really consider BSNL as service provider in any sense.
Neva mind I did activate 3g service by sending sms to 121 (START 3G).. it got activated in about 2 mins.Not bad huh!!
Aircel coverage in my suburb is pretty bad!! just 2 or four bars max of network signal strength.
Did a speed test on cisco app, got decent speeds of around 1.3 to 1.6 Mbps.
Streamed videos on you tube on HQ video and no lag or buffer needed.
Now 1.3 to 1.6mbps is not bad considering the signal strength i get.. around -92db on field test.
I am sure must be better for other people in Hyderabad..

guys, happy to inform namakkal is having 2 3g hsdpa signals.. bsnl past 1 year and now from today afternoon AIRCEL… i heartly welcome it for quick launch in my city…thank u for recognizing namakkal.. kindly reduce 3g cost please.. at present having bsnl 3g in rs.4200 scheme.
