AIRCEL the fast growing Pan India telecom operator in the country, today launched its 3G Mobile and Data service in 6 new telecom circles – Maharashtra & Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (West), Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh & Chhatishgarh via Intra Circle Roaming Agreements (ICRA) for 3G services with Tata Docomo.
With the launch of 3G Services in above 6 telecom circles Aircel has almost completed its Pan India 3G footprint. Now its 3G Mobile and Data services are available in all telecom circles except Mumbai, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh.
To Avail the Aircel 3G services, subscriber needs to send SMS “START 3G” to 121. For convenience of prospective 3G Mobile and High Speed Data service users, there is no changes for Voice and SMS tariff and it will be charged as Aircel 2G GSM Plan and customer can clubbed any 3G data plans specially tailored for all segments as their needs and suitability.

Aircel customers in Haryana can now activate and enjoy 3G services as it has been officially launched by the company here. I sent SMS START 3G to 121 and got reply that 3G services has been activated on your Aircel number. Before we were getting a reply that it’s not available in your circle. I got 250MB as a trial offer and 50 mins of video calling. This data can be used on both 2G/3G network. Also, I found a strange thing that I can access service using Tata Docomo APN i.e tata.docomo.internet also on my Aircel number. Don’t know whether they tie-up for network sharing or APN sharing too. I know it’ll be stopped as soon as company finds this loophole.

It seems like Aircel will soon end it’s network sharing pact with Tata Docomo for 2G network in Haryana as we are getting Aircel Haryana network (IND 807) from last few days. But for 3G, they’ll definately allow subscribers to select or use Tata’s network as they don’t have 3G license for Haryana circle. The Aircel’s own network (IND 807) can be spotted at almost all major places now in Haryana.

dat means its still not started !

It will not work with the home simcards.If u have Aircel Simcard of Chennai Circle with 3g activated then it will work with roaming in these 6 circles.There coverage area clearly indicates their presence

Where do you live in Haryana? You might be aware that Aircel don’t have their own infrastructure here and they’re using Tata Docomo’s network under network sharing pact. If you want to blame someone blame Docomo. Btw Aircel is not that bad in my area. I get around 40-50KBps i.e 320-400Kbps speed on Aircel during morning time and it stay 25KBps rest of day. It amazed me a lot as my N73 supports EDGE class32 and can give speed upto 296.6Kbps but I got around 400Kbps on EDGE. I also have screenshots available. And Aircel hasn’t started 3G services yet. The CC told me that information on website is put on after service got proposed for launch. It has been proposed here but no launch as of yet.

Using Aircel 3g in Kolkata for quite some time on 3G usb Data card Micromax MMX 352G. Speed is good at about 1.2 Mbps average and maximum 3.1 Mbps. But I faced inconsistency in the connectivity and frequent downtimes. I always get 3 signal bars out of 4, so no signal problems I presume. Aircel has to correct these problems.
