@Agnivo
Hutch when they first came to Karnataka also talked so much about simple plan and started with the simplest plan, just one plan. In the market condition soon they found it not possible to keep simple plans and they had to follow the market trend.
Anyone is looking for simple plan… Reliance has it right now. Everything @50 ps.
However even though simple plans may be easy to understand, if not for these complicated plans….. the competitions would not have been there…. If not for competition, people would still have been paying Rs.36/- per minute for a local call airtime charge…… I remember because I had marketed some mobile….
I wish the same sort of competition is brought into the Medical field. Hospitals are charging exorbitant charges because there is no direct competition. Unless one gets admitted into a hospital and gets a bill, most hospital do not reveal the charges before hand. There was a proposal to make it compulsory for hospitals to display their charges, but I think because of influence, that is never going to happen!
Considering the above it really is not a worry that the plans are complicated… at least rates have fallen really down so much.

Sounds cool man, but not practical
because no one is coming with this type of service I hope some operator is seeing this then only some chances

@altaf
Altaf, you are mistaken… It’s not about impracticable rates, but a simple plan for everyone under them, say: Re.2 for local, Rs.3 for STD, Rs.15/ISD flat rate, no rate cutters, no STV, no keeping up with latest offers kind of shit. Simple “One Plan”, be it prepaid or postpaid.
Naturally, less people would signup under them, but I know there are some people who always like quality over quantity, and the figure is not so less as some might think of. Company would have less clients but comparable revenue as any other cheaper tariff network.
Also, lesser number of CC staff needed, they would be able to personally handle each client well, as better network = less complaints. Higher tariff = lesser congestion, guaranteed connect in one try.
A very good connection to keep (doesn’t fail in emergencies). One can always keep a cheaper tariff backup connection as dual sim handsets are easy to find these days.
Hope it’s not a junk idea…

I’m starting “EliteCell” with highest tariff like local call @ 100rs/min and std @101/min will be glad to have you as a first “elite customer”
IF you want quality go for vodafone or airtel no need to pay more
Agnivo October 1, 2009 at 7:32 pm
Hmm, seems the industry would face crisis when the market is saturated and tariffs have hit the rock bottom (some years from now I guess).
I wish there was a network called “EliteCell” which offered the highest tariffs in India and best personalized customer service. There would be no congestion as the number of customers would be limited… “elite network for elite people” zero congestion, best customer service and network!
What I’m trying to make it is that there should exist an option for elite customers or who consider quality above anything else and are ready to pay premium.

@Subratio
giants like MTS also beleive in service, it offers free missed call alert – without making hype on it like tata docomo ! MTS customer care is awesome … and netwrk – i give it 85/100 ! all this with cheapest tariff !
same service will be from Uninor and Etisalat DB , i guess , though they r on 1800 Mhz spectrum and GSM operator !
Anuj October 1, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Yeah, thats true.
Subratio October 1, 2009 at 3:46 pm
Service is key to success in telecom business. Low tarrif may help in short run, but one has to match up with Airtel on its network and customer care strengths.

MTS really rocking!!!
Anuj October 1, 2009 at 1:57 pm
I can’t imagine the level of competition after the launch of Uninor, a joint venture between India’s Unitech & Norway’s leading & low cost service carrier ‘Telenor’. Telenor is a famous for its low cost model & in India, the combined enguity holds license in all circles. Some 3-4 days back, senior person from Bharti Airtel’s top management expressed concern about this company to ET Now channel that this foreign company including NTT Docomo & Maxis Communication could challenge Bharti’s proportion in Indian market.
